Meshtastic maintenance and repair

Hello!

I'm completing a project at uni, and we're incorporating meshtastic into our project solution. I was having trouble finding answers regarding maintenance and repair, and was wondering if you could help! thanks !

What is the maintenance of nodes/mesh networks like?

How often are maintenance checks done/do nodes need to be regularly maintained?

How would you go about repairing/replacing nodes?

Thank you !!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey there Doug,

I'll try my best to answer your question, but your experience might vary depending on the type of hardware you are trying to use.

Maintenance of nodes/mesh networks primarly focuses on optimizing your node placement for signal transmition and reception, updating firmware, and monitoring the performance of your nodes.

As for what maintenance checks, what maintanance, and what repair would be needed, that would primarily depend on your hardware and how you will be using each node (I.e, is your node mounted, how will my node be powered, will their be power redundnacy). One of the cool things about most of the Meshtatastic hardware is that it is primarly a set it and froget it system. As long as the node is powered, and won't be damaged, their shoulden't be too much regular matnance.
