I've been trying to get my ps3 slim running again. Opened it up, cleaned it out, replaced thermal paste, etc. It read disks before but would freeze, then it wouldn't read, register, or even spin disks. I replaced the laser module and ribbon cable, and it still won't work.
all it does is takes in the disk, re-seats it, and then just sits there.
Did I miss something or break something?

Hi there!
It could be many things. I would replace the laser deck (completely) and check again.
If the same issue comes up, I would replace the whole drive and see how that goes.
Just wondering, does it do the same thing with Blu-ray movies?
Before you opened it, everything did work, right?
Make sure that all the ribbon cables are 100% connected.
