1985 Buick Riviera won't start

I have a 1985 Buick Riviera and I went out to start it and it wouldn't start even with a jump. Changed the spark plugs and tried to start it and it wouldn't start even with a jump. It tried to start the first time but wouldn't after changing the plugs and tried to jump it and it wouldn't start. What next

Does the moter try to turn over? Does it have compression? Do the spark plug have any spark (you could unscrew a spark plug leave it connected to the wire and look when you try to start the car off you have a spark)?
