flashing question mark flashing, won't go away

Floppy disk with question mark flashing on screen and nothing seems to help it go away.

Options

Your machine cannot find a valid system folder. Your hard drive may have gone bad or need repair. Insert your system start up floppy and see if it will boot from it. The 3.6 volt 1/2 AA PRAM battery may need to be replaced also.
