After i pressed the power off button , it pressed the top chassis/fram down.

repair person says that the power flex cable is broken and it damaged my motherboard.

(cd drive opens cpu fan spins but no screen and external monitor)

Is it possible i pressed down on the powerflex cable and that burned and that destroyed the motherboard how is that possible?
