McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner: What is the purpose of this wiring connector?

This is a more general wiring question, as I've seen these kinds of connectors in other devices as well:

Three questions:

1. What is its purpose? On one side it's connected to the AC-in power cord, while the other side goes to the rest of the machine.

2. This connector seems to have had too much juice running through it -- one side burned and melted the plastic for some reason. Does it pose a fire hazard in its current state?

3. Would it be a bad idea if I just bypassed the burnt side entirely, and connected the wires together?

Hello,

I need some guidance. I was filling the tank but I dropped the funnel and spilled water outside the water compartment and into the storage compartment. Water started to pour out from the sides of the unit and from the bottom. I haven’t turned the unit on since I don’t know if I should wait to that water to dry. What should I do? Please advise!!

McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner: Is there a way to replace the hand hold nozzle part.

I lent my brand new MC1275 to a friend who returned it broken. The white plastc part that pops into place when you attach the long tube is missing and when I went to use it s

the tube did not snap in. My theory is that all that steam came oozing out of the whole top of the handle because it was not sealed. Now I have steam vapor even inside the on/off switch. I am afraid that all that steam inside if the body of the unit will effect the wiring and even rust. Is there anything I can do to rescue it or is it toasted??

Is there some place near San Diego t that services these steamers? I want to act as quickly as possible to prevent further damage. Is it even possible to replace the handle???
