Anyway, the thing has EXTREME slowness (as in, 5-25 seconds to register a single menu command), and that is only when it turns on properly. Has problems with graphical glitches (Colours/lines/squares that in a PC would be associated with GPU failure), often power cycles/completely crashes.

Complete factory reset of system had mixed results. First one resulted in the same situation. Second reset made the thing almost usable. Third one, only boots to graphical glitches; cannot access menu.

My knowledge of TVs is limited (have extensive computer knowledge though). To me, this sounds like a mainboard problem.

Is this a mainboard problem? Is it reasonable to attempt a repair on this TV? Are there guides/tips/things I ought to know?
