Hi!

Thank you for your great guide! I have a question regarding the Torx screwdriver sizes. I own a toolset that includes T6, T8, and T10 sizes as well as a few others. In your guide, it is listed that a "TR10" and a "TR8" screwdriver is needed. After watching several videos pertaining to hard drive replacement, many people claim that they are using the standard T10 and T8 sizes. Is there any difference between the "TR" labeled screwdrivers and the standard "T" ones? I don't want to have to buy these two screwdrivers if the ones I currently own will work. Please advise. Thank you!

ifixit Screwdriver: Spinning top fell off from 1/4" driver. How to repair?

Hi,

The spinning top of my 1/4" driver fell off. The screw is still inside the handle under the bearing. I haven't found a guide on how to repair this.

Is the T6H, T7H, T8H, T9H, T10H -bit identical to the (torx security) TR6, TR7, TR8, TR9, TR10 -bit? And what is the reason for the difference in naming?

I need a Torx TR10 screwdriver, but I have something call a TT10x7 by Stanley. Are these the same thing? It appears to be the same shape complete with hole in the middle (I’ve attached some screenshots) but wanted to check first. I also have a TT25x100, would this be the same thing as a Torx TR25?

I was assembling my project with a screwdriver bit with the new drill, I used the drill adapter, but it was soo strong, now the 2 bits, the 1/4 to 4mm and the square key is stuck inside the adapter, how I can separate them again?

I want to be able to use my 1/4” bits with the precision drivers I have. I’ve looked locally but couldn’t find such a thing. The piece I need could be either a female to female 1/4” hex since I already can adapt my precision shank to a 1/4” shank, or, preferably, I would like to go directly from a 4mm shank to a female 1/4” hex or even a chuck that could work with 1/4” bits would be kind of ok. Thanks for any input… I’ve already heard this is a weird request from a few people.

Why in “iFixit 64 Bit Driver Kit” magnetizing is present only on one side of flexible holder? It is missing on side on which you attach selected bit, which makes them fall out when moved to more horizontal position.

Hello,

I was currently hired to work in a phone repair shop. While working here, I became increasingly familiar with using a certain screwdriver. Since there are many people working here, we all came to love this particular tool and since we only have one, it's a hassle to keep sharing it. I was wondering how can I buy this screwdriver, it is not listed in the iFixit parts :(.

PART DESCRIPTION

Silver screwdriver

the length is about 1/2 an inch the size of an iphone 6

it has three pieces of rubber near the head for your thumb, they are lined up in perfect parallel lines.

Bottom side has a white ifixit logo with a big hole going through that side of the tool

How are you supposed to refit the blue cap, seems like a poor design, ive barely used my kit and the stupid blue cap which is screwed in just undoes, seems like a stupid design to me. Surely this has happened to others, cant figure out how to get it back on.

Hey my most used bits are getting rusty (maybe from sweat or humidity? Idk), i live in a really humid area and would love some tips to remove the rust/prevent the bits from rusting. (Also i would think they are anti-rust?)

I somehow got a small screw stuck in the top of my Mako Driver from my Pro Tech Toolkit. I have tried using tweezers and a toothpick to get it out, but neither worked. It is stuck to the magnet where the bits attach.
