iPod Touch 7th Generation: How to fix a dropped iPod?

Update: I let it die and then plugged it in and left it alone for a couple hours and it seems to be working fine now. There is still some slight screen flashing but it’s almost unnoticeable.

iPod Touch 7th Generation: Do iPod Touch 7 parts exist?

I am trying to repair an iPod Touch, 7th Generation model #MVHW2VC/A (A217B). The LCD screen and digitizer are crushed. Both the front camera, back camera and flash no longer work. Everything else seems OK. The problem is, I cannot find a single part for this device anywhere on Planet Earth. I saw one listing on eBay where a guy was selling iPod Touch 5th gen screens and said they *might* work in 7th gen. I’m in Canada and I sent a parts request to the largest Apple parts supplier in the country and they basically said, yeah we can’t find any parts either.

So the question is, does anybody anywhere carry parts for this model or are the parts identical to iPod Touch 6th gen parts which are in turn identical to iPod 5th gen parts? Not sure how a device made in 2012 can have the exact same components as a twice upgraded 2019 device. Does anybody have an answer to this? The person is waiting to get their device back and I can’t be spending weeks ordering parts and taking a device apart to find out the parts don’t fit and somehow put the shattered screen back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

iPod Touch 7th Generation: Can I just repair the front glass (screen)?

I used IFIXIT to repair my iPhone 4s years ago and it came out fine!

Now my wife has an iPod touch 7th gen that she dropped and the glass (screen?) is broken. It is like a cracked window. The unit still works fine, but I would like to replace the glass. In reading the detailed procedure on your website, I wonder if I need to do all the steps required (like detaching the home button, the lightning connection, speaker, moving the battery out of the way, etc. all to just replace the front glass? It seems like a lot of work!

iPod Touch 7th Generation: I cannot get my iPod to swipe or reset.

I cannot get my iPod to let me swipe my used apps off the screen or even swipe to turn it off. I tried to reset by holding the power button and the round home button at the same time and it does nothing. I can tap my apps and they work fine, it just seems to be the swiping motion. I admit I am totally ignorant about all electronics so my terminology is probably wrong and I apologize for this.

iPod Touch 7th Generation: Anyone know how to fix an iPod Touch 7th Gen audio jack?

I don't have the money to buy a new one at the moment and I've had mine for almost 8 years now. I just want to know if anyone has successfully removed and replaced it and the ipod still works. I'm a bit addicted to music so if I repair it and break it I don't think I'll be able to handle it. I have an previous gen that I stopped using due to the battery dying fast and low storage so I'm willing to test repair that one. If the audio jacks are the same that would also help. Thank you.
