iPod Touch 6th Generation: My iPod wont hold a charge.

My iPod is over 4 years old, and I'm pretty sure it needs a new battery AND charging port. I have the items in a list on amazon as it is slightly cheaper. Will there ever be a tutorial on how to replace the charging port?

iPod Touch 6th Generation: iPod Touch 6G rapid boot loop, dies immediately if taken off charger

This needs a detailed back story beyond just "rapid bootloop, dies if taken off charger"

This was a working iPod Touch 6th Gen, 32GB Gold in a noticeably bent housing. I got a replacement used housing, moved the working board and screen into the used housing, new battery, all worked great until I opened the camera app, which seemingly killed the board, now it does the rapid bootloop and can't hold a charge at all. It never fully boots up, just goes white apple screen to black screen repeatedly.

I don't think anyone would expect a used original rear camera to be dangerous, yes I did already try swapping another rear camera and another new battery, no change.

So I take it I need another logic board? I'd just like to know why iPod Touches die like this. Did the NAND flash die? Charging circuit? Sad this probably can't be fixed.

Update (08/10/24)

I got a third battery to test with and it actually worked, the iPod touch lives again!! Seems gotta get a really good battery and make sure it's soldered really well.

iPod Touch 6th Generation: iPod Touch won't turn on

When I used to use my iPod Touch for music, the device had to be connected to some sort of external power supply in order to be able to use it, but randomly one day, when it was connected to an external battery, it shows the apple logo, then turns off. Since I was told by apple that there was no kind of repair process that iPod Touch can go through (unlike the iPhone), I just got a 128 GB iPhone 11 to replace this device.

I also have an iPod Touch 2nd Generation, but it never just stopped working like the the 6th Generation did, so what gives? I never dropped it, and all I'd like to be able to do is make a full backup that I can then extract to see what exactly is missing from my iTunes library. Thanks

iPod Touch 6th Generation: iPod touch 6th Generation boot-looping after battery death.

Hey, so my iPod touch of nearly 5 years just went into boot-loop that is persisting, even after attempting to force-reset. This would totally be fine despite the fact when I plug it into my computer to attempt iTunes, it breaks the loop/shuts down completely even if on the recovery page and does not turn back on until I re-plug it into my adapter. Does anyone have any possible idea or tips on how to fix this? I assume it's a battery issue or maybe I dropped it and it disconnected something? (Please help I have no idea)

Context after proofreading: I've dropped it before and it has automatically rebooted but it's never boot-looped. At all.

iPod Touch 6th Generation: Repaired, but the problems are the same.

So I did not do the repair myself but an expert did, however this ipod still had the same problems. First: it wont charge even though when it was fixed it did but no it wont. Second: the battery was replaced and it used to hold a charge at all and now it doesnt. And lastly: when ever I power it on it gets really hot really fast.

Also I would like to add that im not trying to be mean because I known they dont hold a very long charge like a modern phone but I thought it would be better since the battery was replaced. And I just didnt expect it to heat up like that. Also if anyone would like to add any tips because Im am hoping to kind of use it as a mp3 player.

iPod Touch 6th Generation: Possible to run without the battery?

My son uses an iPod Touch 6th gen for sleep music / ambient sounds. We’ve now had a third battery expand to the point of bulging out the screen. Is it possible to wire it in such a way that the iPod will run without the battery, just leaving it plugged in? I have opened this one and pulled out the battery, but “as is” it won’t boot up. It just shows the🪫screen.

Can I do something with the three battery terminals in the iPod to “trick” it into being able to start without a battery. I have a replacement iPod for him to use for now, but I know it’s just a matter of time until the battery in this one dies as well. And with the iPod discontinued, I was looking for a non-battery solution.

Thanks
