iPod Touch 4th Generation: Why is screen on white?

Greetings everyone! Recently I found my old iPod Touch 4. After replacing the battery and turning it on, the screen began to light up white for 10 seconds and then go out (it happens after each press of the power button). Does anyone know what could be the problem?

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iFixit Battery Compatibility and IC's on Ribbon Cable

First some specs:

iPod iTouch, before shut down I got the model number: PD058LL/A v 6.16 (10B500)
Old battery APN: 616-0552
Old Battery VPN: P 11GC5-01-S01T
New battery APN: 616-0553
New battery VPN: LIS1458APPC

iFixit P/N's on the box: 85653088
IF146-008-1

Wife bought this battery from iFixIt for her old iPod, and said "here you go, fix it." :-D

Issue #1: Polarity markings on the cable are reversed, exactly as described here. With a mag glass I can see the + and - are opposite on the ribbon if I install the battery with the printed side up. I can see if I install the battery with the printing facing down in the case, the + and - will properly align, but this puts the ribbon cable on the other side of the iPod case, not the original position. Is this acceptable?

Issue #2: The original battery has a few micro IC's directly on the battery ribbon, the new battery does not. Will this battery work without these IC components?

In the below you can see I have not de-soldered the old ribbon but can see the polarity of the old battery, as well as the IC's on the old ribbon.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod Touch 4th gen white screen when restoring

My friend gave me an iPod touch for free. When I power it on, it fails to boot into iOS and boots straight into Recovery Mode. I tried to flash/restore it using other cables, other computers, and other software's (iTunes, 3uTools, etc.). And I keep running into the same problem. It boots into RestoreOS, but a few seconds after the progress bar appears, there is a white screen and it restarts back into recovery mode. And I either get error 9, 1611, or 4013. I have also tried to boot into DFU mode, but it is "impossible" to do so. It just boots into recovery mode. I (and my friend) am/are not aware of the iOS version the iPod originally ran. I am not familiar with Apple devices. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod speaker hissing at volume above 30%

Alright so this is my dead dads old iPod touch 4, I always have it on a stand playing music through my AirPods when I sleep. Stupidly, I have a cup of water next to it and I must have knocked the water on it when I was sleeping.

I woke up and it was soaked and shut off. I immediately opened it and desoldered the battery and power flex. I soaked the thing in isopropyl alcohol and scrubbed with a tooth bruh. The iPod booted up but the speaker was only producing a hissing/static sound. This only happen when the iPod was up past 30%. So I changed the speaker about 5 times, same thing. This doesn’t happen with headphones or my AirPods.

I really wanna fix this as it was my dads, please help! :)

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Need pinout for the Power+Volume switch pads on the mainboard

I’m trying to recover data off of an old 4th Generation iPod touch motherboard by jailbreaking it and pulling data off using afc2. I can verify that it powers on if I plug it into a PC and let the battery charge (it makes the “charger connected” sound and detects on the computer as an iPod with a passcode), but on the device I was given the case is severely dented and bent (along with the entire front glass/LCD/ditigizer assembly being missing), jamming both of the volume buttons and keeping them pressed down. If the power switch were on a different board I could just cut the connections to the volume buttons, but I can’t do that and I’m having an incredibly difficult time tracing the connections. Does anyone know, out of the four pads, which are Vol+, Vol-, Power and Common? Thanks in advance.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: White screen, not detected by anything

I’ve already asked this but the responses were practically useless (how am I supposed to put a device that can’t go into DFU mode, into DFU mode?), so I just made another question.

I have an old iPod Touch that I dug out of the drawer. Plugged it in into the charger and after about 15 seconds the thing came up with just a white screen. It stays for about 5 seconds and turns off, but you can get the screen to come back on if you press the power/home button (as if it was at the lock screen). There are no sounds however, e.g the old pre-iOS 7 charging sound is not there.

I can’t get it into DFU mode, as I mentioned. I’ve heard fixes about replacing the screen but I’ve never replaced the screen or done anything at all to the thing. iTunes/Finder doesn’t recognize it aswell. The charger port obviously works since there would be no other way the device would’ve turned on in the first place.

I even tried connecting it to a monitor (with the 30pin to VGA adapter) and all I got were a bunch of gray lines. No idea how that would help.

At this point I can’t describe the issue any further so it would really help if any solutions are given below. I’ll try to respond as quickly as I can.

Thanks.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Why wont my iPod Touch respond to being plugged in or button inputs?

I have recently found my old IPod Touch and wanted to see what was on it (granted it has been sitting there for over a year). While trying, it was completely unresponsive. Nothing on the screen, no response to button inputs and no response to being charged/plugged in to my computer. Im going to go out on a limb and say its either the battery or the logic board that is dead. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Replacement screen lights up, but not responding to touch

I replaced the screen and the home button and everything lights up and looks great. However, the touch screen does not appear to be responsive. The volume, main power button and new home buttons seem to all be operational but I cannot slide and unlock the screen or anything else. It connects through my car (2019 Hyundai) and plays music and plays music if I double tap the home button, so it doesnt appear that I damaged the board inside. Do I have a loose connection somewhere or a bad part?

iPod Touch 4th Generation: White Screen NOT White Screen of Death, Glitchy and no Apple logo

My old iPod has been in a drawer for a while now… Just booted it back up (along with a few other old devices in there that all worked perfectly fine). The screen is white but not pure white, there are glitchy horizontal lines when something is trying to be displayed and sometimes I can almost tell what it’s trying to display, such as the time or something.

Hopefully you can kind of see the faint horizontal lines - none are there permanently, it’s not damage or anything, they just glitch around. The slightly darker lines near the top center of the screen is actually the time on the lock screen glitching around, so it’s not just the pure white “white screen of death”.

I’ve tried holding down buttons (power+home, or power+volume up+home) and letting the power drain before charging it all the way back up, but maybe this is something physically wrong with the display because it tries to display what it’s supposed to but it can’t.

It does connect to iTunes and everything, so the device still (more or less) functions correctly.

Thanks
