problem :

> restore ipod failed, stuck on apple logo & usb

> trying to flash it using 2utools, stuck in 14% (screen shows apple logo and empty loading bar), always ended up failed with error -1

> ipod disconnected mid flashing (i use direct usb port on my macair 2017)

> got 2pcs 30pin cables with a bit suspicious conditions (need to adjust the port to make it connect)

pre-restoration status :

> ipod can play music, speaker works, buttons work, glass screen cracked yet no sign of dead pixel/dent/black spot, wifi works

> can charge with those cables but need adjustment to make it work

> can connect to finder and works well (can delete/add media)

> cameras not working (black/sometimes greens/show some hardware error) it still can capture/record

> was jailbroken : cydia

> apple account logged out

Was waiting for about 30ish min to restore, so i left to do something else. But it showed apple logo + usb and restore failed.

My intention was wanting to clear all of the existing musics, so i want to restore it. But it went wrong. Help, thank you.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: unable to boot or restore

i have this ipod touch thats been stuck on the apple logo for an extended period and would seemingly boot loop after ~15 minutes, so i tried to flash ios 6 back onto it and see if that would work. it failed with either error 9 or 1602 every time right after getting to "operation 28 progress -1" in the logs. it always failed because of it apparently disconnecting even though my cable and usb ports are fine. i tried restarting my computer too without any luck. it has a panic log too; device had saved panic logs: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x9c0dbac5): "Failed _ReplaceBadBlock CE 1 PBN 2568" which i unfortunately couldn't find anything on google to help me out. it got a bit warm near the top of the display after trying to recover it, which i didnt notice while doing the same process on a functional one. i noticed after trying to recover it, it would stay on the apple logo and then the itunes one, then loop back to the apple logo. it'd do that for an hour or so and shut back off. im suspecting its a hardware problem but id also like to be sure and know more about that panic log. im really new to stuff like this so sorry if anything was worded badly

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iFixit Battery Compatibility and IC's on Ribbon Cable

First some specs:

iPod iTouch, before shut down I got the model number: PD058LL/A v 6.16 (10B500)
Old battery APN: 616-0552
Old Battery VPN: P 11GC5-01-S01T
New battery APN: 616-0553
New battery VPN: LIS1458APPC

iFixit P/N's on the box: 85653088
IF146-008-1

Wife bought this battery from iFixIt for her old iPod, and said "here you go, fix it." :-D

Issue #1: Polarity markings on the cable are reversed, exactly as described here. With a mag glass I can see the + and - are opposite on the ribbon if I install the battery with the printed side up. I can see if I install the battery with the printing facing down in the case, the + and - will properly align, but this puts the ribbon cable on the other side of the iPod case, not the original position. Is this acceptable?

Issue #2: The original battery has a few micro IC's directly on the battery ribbon, the new battery does not. Will this battery work without these IC components?

In the below you can see I have not de-soldered the old ribbon but can see the polarity of the old battery, as well as the IC's on the old ribbon.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod Touch 4th gen white screen when restoring

My friend gave me an iPod touch for free. When I power it on, it fails to boot into iOS and boots straight into Recovery Mode. I tried to flash/restore it using other cables, other computers, and other software's (iTunes, 3uTools, etc.). And I keep running into the same problem. It boots into RestoreOS, but a few seconds after the progress bar appears, there is a white screen and it restarts back into recovery mode. And I either get error 9, 1611, or 4013. I have also tried to boot into DFU mode, but it is "impossible" to do so. It just boots into recovery mode. I (and my friend) am/are not aware of the iOS version the iPod originally ran. I am not familiar with Apple devices. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Any Way to Recover my Old Data

So, I have a difficult one.

An old ipod touch 4th Gen, circa 2011. 32gb.

Many years ago the power button on the top broke and I stopped using it.

Now I want to get the old photos and pictures off of it. Got photos of old dogs and stuff, not backed up anywhere else.

Problems.

It won't turn on. When I connect it to my PC the screen turns on to the icon of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo.

My PC does not recognize it, "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it".

The iPod is not associated with my itunes account. For the life of me I can not remember why or how, what account it was registered to in 2011, it was not my email address. So effectively, whatever account it was on, is long gone. (I was a teenager then and can't remember anything).

I'm not overly interested in fixing the iPod, I just want to take the data off the hard drive and have it on my computer.

Is there any way of this being possible without having the account details and without the Ipod functioning?

Thanks!
