When I plug my nano into my laptop, it refuse to interface with iTunes or even the files menu. I can access the files on it fine from other devices, and the laptop can read flash drives and such. The only time I could even get it to interface with the laptop was while the computer was booting.

So basically, I have dropped my iPod about 3 times and jammed some stuff into it. I got it used. I have had it for about 8 months and for some reason and it will reboot when unplugged from charging and the click wheel doesn’t work. It also reboots when I flick the hold switch on and off. It responds to being connected to iTunes. But when it is rebooting it flickers. I cannot get into the diagnostic menu by holding menu and select and then holding skip left and select so I don’t know if the click wheel is even properly connected or not because the buttons don’t work nor does the click wheel. I don’t know what to do. I’m thinking of getting it fixed by Apple but I would like some answers first.

The auxiliary cord tip broke off in the port of my IPOD. I purchased the headphone plug extraction tool and proceeded to try to take the plug out as instructed. I don’t know where the tip got to, but the headphones will now plug into it. Now my IPOD doesn’t work at all

Hi!

I’ve got a problem with my ipod nano 4G. its jack has some issue with one channel because i put too much side pressure while headphones was in. Is it possible to get new part to replace? I think that changing shape manually won’t help me for long time. Pls help me :)

iPod Nano 4th Generation: Click wheel responds in low power state, hold switch reset.

The click wheel is not responding to key presses when the software is running.

I can get it to bring the screen up when the battery is extremely low and when it is charged I can get the menu key and center key to respond to a hold switch reset.

It is at 1.04 software. I have done a restore through the iTunes software and it is still doing the same.

Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you guys.

(I have recently replaced the battery as well, and while I had it apart I inserted a piece of gift card behind the logic board to seat the click wheel against the contacts better. Read that on other forums as a tip.)

The display of my ipod nano 4th generation has water damage, it just need a clean up, I've already removed all the 5 screws, the top and the bottom bezel but the screen is not sliding out I stopped trying to remove it because I bend the bracket where the hold button is attached, but not damaged, I really need any help that anyone could provide me about this issue, Thank you so much in advance, merry christmas!!!

I was able to play in car, at work on docking station and with earplugs.

Now it has a lock showing, I have tried the Hold button on top, back and forth.

Tried the Menu-Center Button hold, No Apple Screen. Same with Play-Center Button, Menu-Play Button.

Tried the computer, did find ipod control, devise, but there is no lock to be found.

My ipod is either 4th or 5th gen. It started to have problems before it stopped working at all. First the backlight was always off. Then the screen went black. Then tge hold button didnt work properly. It would be on vut thedial would turn and work. Then the music stopped playing out the speaker and then the headphones. Now it wont charge or turn on or do anything really. What's wrong with it? I dont want a new one and i want all the music that's in it. Can i fix it without erasing the music?

I have a fourth generation iPod nano that freezes while charging It stays on the Apple screen the whole entire time until it dies again. I've tried holding the middle button play button and the screen lock located at the top of the device. What can I do to fix this problem?

I had a cracked screen on my 4th generation nano. It was working fine, only the screen was bleeding after I dropped it and that kinda annoyed me. I have replaced the screen exactly like in the instructions.

I had a bit of trouble initially prying it out, but I didn't snag the hold wire. I'M pretty sure of it because I was extra careful and it looks fine.

However when installing the new screen it doesn't work. the screen stays black. if I switch over the hold switch I get sounds from the click wheel but there is no music either.

Is there anything I did wrong? Did I break anything? I don't think the new screen is dodgy....

Any help would be appreciated! I'm at a loss as to what it could be!

My iPod got wet after being in my leather jacket on my motorcycle, in the rain...I put it in rice for two days, plugged into computer/iTunes...The apple logo came on ..then.... Do not disconnect screen... I can get that screen to go away, but I don't know what to do to help fix my iPod.... I'm completely sad about this... I spent hours on top of hours trying to organize my ipod with all my favorite music... And even music from my relatives computers... please help.
