iPod Nano 4th Generation: How do I save money on this iPod repair?

I got passed down my dad's old iPod, and it works. Two problems emerge though. Firstly, the screen is broken, Secondly, the thing can't hold a charge. Hopefully this thing isn't an apple iC4 waiting to explode. What do I do to save money on the repair?

My iPod 4th generation nano only works when plugged in. I have left it plugged into ac power overnight, and in the morning it shows it's complete, but when I unplug it, the screen goes dark and the device loses power. When I try to turn it on by holding the play button nothing happens, I try to reset it by holding the menu and center button for 6-30 seconds and also nothing happens. The device was used rarely from purchase and has been sitting without a charge for at least a year. I can listen to music while it's plugged in and "charging" but when I disconnect it from the ac power cord its a dead duck. If anyone can help me I'd be greatful.

i am having this problem,

ipod nano 4g turns on and came up with a white screen and gets three beeps

i tried reseting and restoring , it doesnt work.

its not screen problem i have replaced two times my screen also

So this morning I was shaking my iPod for the shuffle to work. I guess I shook it too hard because it shut off and will only work if plugged into a charger. It works just fine and seems as if nothing is wrong, but once you unplug it it turns right off. It's done this once before, but it fixed right away. Not fixing this time. What would be the best thing to do?

My iPod is stuck on hold or lock and I've tried reset, restore, everything and its still stuck on hold. My iPod still recognize my computer and turns on when i charge it but it i cant navigate or use it when its on lock. I just barely passed my warranty which on screwed i have to fix this myself. How do I replace or fix the hold problem?

I need a new charge port for my iPod nano 4gen. Are there parts available somewhere and where would I find one? It also needs a new battery and LCD screen but I'll get those pieces of the port is replaceable.

Hi, I was wondering where I can find an orange shell replacement for my 4th gen iPod nano? I have looked online (even EOE) and still can't find one that is not a case.

Today, while using my iPod, it suddenly turned off, stopped charging, and started making a ticking/clicking noise. It turned on once, but after a few minutes, it stopped working again. Initially, I thought it might be related to the hard drive, but I realized that the iPod Nano 4th generation uses flash memory, so it definitely couldn't be that.

Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong with it

Also, it's a 16-gig one if it helps.

When I plug my nano into my laptop, it refuse to interface with iTunes or even the files menu. I can access the files on it fine from other devices, and the laptop can read flash drives and such. The only time I could even get it to interface with the laptop was while the computer was booting.

iPod Nano 4th Generation: Why can't I delete songs off my iPod from iTunes?

Recently my iPod has been glitching so that I am unable to delete songs off it via iTunes. The same goes for videos, podcasts, and, strangely, playlists. I think that it’s happened before, but somehow fixed itself. I’ve tried unsyncing music because I usually just drag to load, but nothing works. I’ve also tried going to the menu bar at the top of the Mac screen but there’s no delete option. My iPod is in pretty good condition, and apart from this and one other thing that got resolved, I’ve had relatively little trouble with it. Is this my old computer, or my iPod, or something else?

I ripped the click wheel flex cable while putting it back in, and I can't find any replacement part anywhere. There are parts for any ipod nano except the 4th gen :(

I found a listing on alibaba but the seller told me it was not in stock anymore.

Do you have any clue on where to find some of these? Thank you very much !

Hii, i want to buy an old apple ipod. Ive decided on an ipod nano 4th gen or an older mode like the ipod classic, but im not sure which one to get, so i was wondering which one would be best in case i need to get it fixed in the future? For example if the battery wears out or something else inside it needs fixing, which one would have the best chance of surviving, since its going to be an old device. Thank you!
