iPod Nano 2nd Generation: Possible to swap storage drive?

After using it for 20 years and putting weird Rockbox - related stuff on it my iPod nano 2's drive is now completely broken. It became a RAW drive a while ago and now my computer can't even format it. I'd like to swap a new storage chip onto the Nano 2 but I have no idea what kind I should buy and the max storage it would support. Can anyone confirm what kind of chip I should buy and the largest amount of storage it would support? thanks in advance🤓

iPod Nano 2nd Generation: How to fix iPod nano stuck on hold?

Hey! I am trying to look at what is in an old iPod nano 2nd generation that was my older sisters. It is now stuck on hold and I can see the lock icon on the screen. The iPod turns on and charged fine I believe. I have tried to reset it but for some reason it isn’t working even if I hold down the menu and middle button, I don’t think that would really help with the iPod being stuck on hold anyway. I have opened the top of the iPod and taken out the little silver box that has the red switch on it because I read that taking it out has helped other people, but my iPod is still stuck on hold even after taking it out. So, I was wondering if there’s anything else I could do, maybe there’s a wire I could just cut that would get rid of the hold entirely? Please help as best as you can, I just want to see listen to the music on it for nostalgia. Thank you.

iPod Nano 2nd Generation: iPod not recognized by iTunes

Picked up a broken Nano 2nd gen 2GB to mess around with, and it wouldn't charge, show any signs of life, or get detected by a computer, whether PC or Mac. I installed a replacement battery, and now a PC or Mac will react when it's plugged in, but the screen still doesn't light up, or show any image. Also, when in iTunes on either my Mac or PC, a message pops up that says "iTunes cannot recognize this iPod at this time.". after dismissing it and pushing any button with the hold switch off on the iPod, the message appears again. There is still nothing that appears on the screen, even though it visually appears unbroken. Any ideas on how to fix this?

iPod Nano 2nd Generation: Why can't I use iTunes to add my iPod nano as an authorized device?

I just purchased an iPod nano 4g 2nd generation for my daughter to listen to music (So I don’t have to lend her my phone all the time), but I can’t put all the songs from my library onto the iPod. I can only move the ones I have purchased or gotten from CDs. I subscribe to Apple Music and I would like this device to be authorized to have access to the music too. I am assuming that it won’t work because the iPod is never connected to the internet? I was just hoping that I could add it as an authorized device and then I could listen to any songs that I downloaded from my computer (I have access to these songs on my computer and my iPhone).

iPod Nano 2nd Generation: Won't charge or sync

When I picked up my Nano after a year of non-use, the battery was completely dead (the battery did hold a good charge from what I remember before). I plugged my Nano into my computer, and Windows showed a "USB Device was not recognized" bubble. The Nano itself managed to boot up after a few seconds. However the battery bar shows a tiny red sliver rather than a charging sign and the backlight does not come on. As soon as I disconnect, the iPod dies. And trust me, I've tried multiple computers/USB cables/wall chargers.

So there's my symptoms. Any suggestions would be awesome. I'm quite clueless at the moment. It would seem like the battery's dead, since that seems to be common for an iPod at this age. However I don't understand why the iPod can't sync if it's only the battery that's dead. I mean, laptops can function perfectly fine on AC with the battery out.
