iPod Nano 1st Generation: Battery, or software issue?

My ipod has had trouble with battery life. I will let it charge to full capacity, then walk out with it and within 5 minutes the battery bar falls to 75%, then 50%, then back to 75%, then 25%, etc. Then recently it kept freezing every time I selected a song. It was so bad I wasn't able to do anything but let it sit and come back the next day and try again. Today I used it and it would just shut off each time I played a song, then it showed something saying I need to do a fix or find an update or something, I can't remember. I'm currently recharging it again until it's full. Does it sound like a battery issue, or maybe a virus that was downloaded somehow to it, or both? Is there any software fixes out there if it is a software issue?

iPod Nano 1st Generation: Sound is not working right (only sound from left ear plug)!

I would like to fix it myself! Is that possible?

The problem is: the music only comes out of the left earplug and when I squuze or push my Ipod then the music comes out of the right earplug. This does not last long when you ride the bike or walk it starts to act weird and then the music only comes out of the left one.

What to do!!!

iPod Nano 1st Generation: I think I fried my iPod with the wrong power source.

I plugged my iPod into my inMotion speakers, but it turns out I had the wrong power adapter connecting the speakers to the wall. The speakers say DC IN 5V, and the adapter says 9V 1.11a.

I didn't know it was the wrong adapter until I inserted my iPod and the speakers (still off) started making a buzzing sound. The iPod then displayed: Connect to iTunes to restore. When I felt the upper back case, it was hot, and now it won't turn on at all. I've tried connecting to iTunes (nothing happened), reseting (nothing) and trying another power source (nothing).

What part of my iPod do I need to replace?

iPod Nano 1st Generation: Tried Installing New Click Wheel, Didn't Solve the Problem

I'm repairing a Nano (1st Gen.) for a family member. It was clear his click wheel was non-functional because it wouldn't scroll nor would the action button work. However, the Reset key combo worked, which, in my mind, meant the logic board was sound and reinforced my opinion on the faulty click wheel. So I bought a new one from iFixit, have attempted installing it three times. Click wheel still doesn't work. Restored it from iTunes for fun, still no-go. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
