iPod Classic 7th Generation: Why is my iPod not increasing battery while charging but still works?

Hi, I bought an iPod Classic 7, I noticed while charging my iPod it didn't increase in battery after leaving it on charging for several hours with a 3rd party cable that came with it. I tried several 5v bricks and even my computer but the battery would just stay the same. I plugged it out and watched it drain in about 3-4 hours playing songs before the 'please charge your ipod' I connected it to charging and it showed that boot up screen instantly, showed that it's charging but the battery indicator is not increasing. The person I got it from said that it was a new battery. I was also able to sync 600 songs with the same 3rd party cable in under 3 minutes.

iPod Classic 7th Generation: Battery replacement still not working

I have an ipod classic 7th gen that has had a bad battery for years, haven't used it all for at least 10 years. I recently opened it and put a replacement battery in it. I plugged it in and it immediately turned on and quite quickly showed a full battery. Once unplugged it will immediately show that it needs to be plugged in. I thought maybe it was a dead replacement battery so I ordered another from a different vendor. Same issue with the second battery. I then tried taking the new battery out and plugged it in without any battery connected and had the same issue. Just wondering what could be causing it. When plugged into wall it works and looks fine. When plugged into a computer it said it's charging but after 24 hours still shows as dead after unplugged. Any help would be great.

iPod Classic 7th Generation: iPod won't sync with itunes

I brought a new 7th gen classic as a Christmas present. I am unable to get it to sync with iTunes.

I have tried on an old pc with a previous/old version of iTunes. I get the message "iPod software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active." ... and "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod" It keeps asking to restore the iPod which then gives these messages.

We have just changed broadband provider. I have 2 other classics that work and sync without issue. Any help gratefully received.

iPod Classic 7th Generation: My Buttons are not working ☹️

Hello everyone,

I recently bought an iPod Classic 7th gen off eBay, everything works just fine except for the clickwheel buttons and center button. It scrolls perfectly, but when I try to press the buttons to the next song or the menu, etc. It doesn’t do anything.

I have already replaced the click wheel itself, but the problem persists. What could it be?

While replacing the clickwheel I made sure that I could hear the click, and I did. Buttons click fine, but don’t actually do anything, sometimes they work if I press them ridiculously hard but sometimes not even that works.
