iPod Classic: iPod Classic NOT RESPONDING to any touch!---HELP---!

i have an iPod Classic (6th Gen 80GB)purchased in 2009

Recently, it has ceased to respond to anything (which includes any button on the click-wheel), and starts only when the power cable is attached to it.

As a result, even when it is on, i am unable to do anything as it doesn't respond. The only thing it responds to is the HOLD switch, and nothing else..

Using the techniques for hard resetting the iPod (as suggested by Apple) is completely hopeless and of no avail (yes, i have tried it many many times..)

This has been happening for quite a long time and now i seriously need to repair it myself as the warranty period has expired.

Please help ASAP. Any replies/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

iPod Classic: Battery won't charge up - only works when plugged in.

Hi,

It got to the time when the battery needed to be replaced, or so I thought. I took it to a repair shop who installed a new one, after which they told me I was good to go. Once the battery had reached its max paying time, I plugged it in (for several hours)for it to recharge. However, when it came to unplugging it in view of listening, again the battery stated it was out. I tried different chargers, both through the mains and a computer. So, I brought it back to shop where I left overnight so they could take a look at it. The next day, I returned to find that they had tried multiple batteries but the device still wouldn't charge. I can now only as a consequence listen to it plugged into the wall. I suspect there is something wrong with the motherboard but not too sure. Can you help?

iPod Classic: Why is my music faint with loud static?

I’ve had my iPod classic when I was younger, but at a certain point the music would be very faint and there would be loud static. This would happen when I would have headphones on. So I stopped using it back in 2010ish.

So today I’ve pulled the corpse from the grave to see if I can fix it. I had to change the battery since it was swollen, and I’ve changed the audio-jack and hold button component.

I have tested the audio-jack and it still does the same thing, faint music with loud static. Imagine a terrible car stereo with the bass too loud and the actual music barely audible.

I’ve also tried docking it in my car and it sounds great as it should.

I’m not sure what can be wrong with it. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

iPod Classic: Why did I seem to lose even the original memory?

Recently I purchased a modded 2 tb iPod 6. It already had Rockbox installed but almost from the moment I got it, it seemed to have problems like requesting that it needed to be formatted. Formatted it and uninstalled/reinstalled the drives. It went from 2 TB to 1 TB. I was willing to accept that loss since it could not read the second sd card. Then after a week of working just fine it crashed during one song and stated "partition cannot be found." It went to 128 gb and then to 32 mb on the AOMEI partition assistant. I keep getting an error code of 1415 when I try to restore it on iTunes. I flipped from the front to the back USB plug in as I read on another site. Nothing works. Talked to the original seller and he said he wont accept a return because I did not follow the instructions. I am not sure about that since my computer would not communicate with it. I have another iPod that was modded to 516 gb and have had it for like 7 years and never had a problem with any computer I connected it to. Could it be the SD cards are corrupted? The original seller said he might let me send it back but would have to crack it open and that might ruin the casing. I am to the point of just getting the tools and cracking it open myself and replacing the SD cards.

iPod Classic: iPod screen will no longer turn on - can't access files at all

Hi! My bluetooth headphones are out of reach for a bit and my phone doesn't have a headphone jack apparently, so I pulled out my old iPod classic to use in the meantime. I wanted to upload my old music to it, but I seem to have bricked it somehow in the process. It turned on just fine when I got it out, but when I plugged it into my laptop, my laptop reformatted the hard drive. It looked normal, just no longer had any music on it. I then tried to add my mp3 files to the music folder, like an article online said I could. However, after I did that, the screen lost the interface and only said "Do not Disconnect" until i hit eject, then "Okay to disconnect." Even once I disconnected it, that's all it said on the screen. I looked on the apple website and it said to hold down the menu and select button for 10 seconds to reset it, which I did a couple times. Each time, it turned off, brought up the apple logo, then went back to "okay to disconnect." When I plugged it into my computer, I could see the mp3s I put on there in file explorer, but only that, like it was a thumbdrive and not an iPod. After a couple resets, the screen stopped turning on altogether. I left it alone plugged in for a couple hours, so it's not out of battery. Now, when I connect it to my laptop, it doesn't show up in file explorer at all. Out of desperation, I trid downloading iTunes to see if that would do anything. It did recognize there was an iPod plugged in, and said it needs to prepare it for recovery and leave it plugged in, but when I hit continue, it says "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect, then try again. An unknown error occurred (1675)." Disconnecting and reconnecting does the same thing. There is a more info link, but it leads to a dead page on the apple site. I tried contacting apple but they said to take it to an apple store, and I don't have a car to get to one. Is there anything I can do or have I ruined it? Any help appreciated! Thank you!
