iPhone XS: Is it possible to restore my data from my iPhone 12 Pro?

Hello iFixit Forum,

im going to make it short and simple, my iPhone 12 Pro took a fatal blow that made the display not show the screen, but the touchscreen still remained functionable.

A few weeks before my iPhone 12 Pro got smashed i upgraded to iOS 26.1 and went on with my day.

Today i bought the iPhone XS in which i was referring to want to restore with my previous data in the title.

Im asking myself though, if i will be able to recover my data, since Apple just so conveniently decided to cut support for the iPhone XS, right when i needed it the most.

I can still make a backup with my iPhone 12 Pro that doesnt display a screen, but has working touch out of pure muscle memory, abd a bit of learning.

I dont know if i will be able to downgrade to iOS 18 on my iPhone 12 Pro, since like i said, i can basically only input my passcode, trust my computer, and make a backup.

Help would be very much appreciated, and i thank you in advance.

iPhone XS: Why is my phone suddenly acting up?

Hello good day, I have a question to ask. The device I have is an iPhone XS which was bought 2nd hand. And has a lot of issues, I mean mostly Hardware. Such as a cracked back glass and the replaced LCD. but the True Tone and Face ID works normally. After a few weeks I started experiencing random shutoffs when I leave my phone charging like idle. And also when I plug in my Wired Headphones it Also panics.the panics indicate a “panic(cpu 3 caller 0xfffffff029de57b8): "i2c0::_checkInterrupts error interrupt;

last write status 10810108 int shadow 00890100 xfer 80000000 fifo 00000002

for device accbuck" @AppleS5L8940XI2C.cpp:503” I just replaced it with a non original battery but transferred the BMS board from it, do I really need to change the flex of the charging cable? Or there’s more that needs to be replaced. Here’s the screenshots from the statistics

iPhone XS: iPhone restarts every 3 minutes after getting wet

i took apart the phone, cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol put it back and issue still persists, then i came across then i came across teh iphone kernel panic page here! and thats my exact issue, so i did everything, got the logs read through it briefly and i found this

"panicString": "panic(cpu 3 caller 0xfffffff0264fb62c): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from thermalmonitord (2 induced crashes) in 200 seconds\nservice returned not alive with context : is_alive_func returned unhealthy : current 6ffffffffffff, mask 37ffffffffdff, expected 37ffffffffdff. SD: 0 BC: 1 RC: 0 BS: 2, Missing sensor(s): Prs0 \n

i looked through other forums and i found that it means the lightning flex cable is damaged (prolly from the broken back + glass water)

heres the whole kernel panic ( i changed the file extension to .json so it gets formatted by vscode) https://filebin.net/q6l2o1eazfo7u5l6

and also i mustve messed up the dot projector when taking the phone apart because face id doesnt work anymore for some reason

iPhone XS: Pictures from a probably restored iPhone XS

I have an iPhone XS with pictures from a period when the phone was not synchronized with iCloud. The phone had of some reason gone into iPhone Unavailable mode. I have tried to unlock the phone, with the result that the phone may have been restored. I can still see some of the pictures on the phone, but there is a period that does not appear.

Does anyone know of any software that can restore pictures that cannot be seen on the phone, but which are possibly in the memory? The missing pictures are of great importance to me.

Anyone with a solution is welcome to write to me

iPhone XS: iPhone XS multiple black screen of deaths, with sudden resurrections

My wife's iPhone XS is acting up. It did the following a few times in the past 2-3 weeks: the phone just switched off for no reason (the battery wasn't depleted), and it was not possible to turn it back on. The charge was about half or more. Even if I put it on charger, nothing happened. On a wireless charger, the charger led lit up, so maybe it was charging. It was not hot, so it should be an overheat issue. I also tried plugging in the phone to both a Macbook and a PC, and the phone was not recognized in either, no USB connect sound, nothing. Then, after about half a day, the phone started working again all of a sudden.

The same thing happened multiple times. Black screen, nothing works (I also tried the force reboot keypresses a countless times, to no avail). Sometimes the phone just cames back online after a few hours, sometimes much more. When it comes back online, the charge level is normal... The battery health is 81%, still the original battery.

Any ideas what this could be? Is the motherboard faulty? Or something else? Is it possible to repair this phone economically? (It's a 64GB model).

Thanks!

iPhone XS: Camera and flash not working

I was given an iPhone XS in very poor condition that I wanted to restore. However, upon testing it I found that the flash doesn’t work when trying to use the flashlight, but does function in the camera app with flash turned on, and the 1x camera shows a black screen. (The 2x camera still works). Ive since taken it apart and reseated the 1x camera connector and flash connector in hopes that it was a loose connection, but that didn’t work. Being that the flash still works in camera, but not as a flashlight, could this be a software issue, or are the parts just damaged?

iPhone XS: iPhone Xs - Screen is too sensitive after replacement

Replacement went smooth, but now when I put my phone in my pocket, it seems to be detecting touch from the fabric of my pants and keeps locking out me out due to incorrect passcode attempts. When I actually use my phone everything works great, no phantom/ghost touches and it feels accurate, so i’m guessing its just too sensitive and my pants are just activating the screen. Anything I can do for this or do i need to look into getting another replacement screen?

iPhone XS: I dropped two different iPhone XS's both have 4013 error!

Hello,

I dropped a refurbished (gently used I'm good condition) with a good screen protector and one of those extended battery "protection" case which made the phone a lot heavier. It didn't break the screen physically but shortly afterwards it went into the green screen boot loop which eventually led to me having to spend another $220 to buy another one.

I bought another one (iPhone XS) and used the same case was very careful with it but I did drop it and it went into a similar boot loop but without a green screen.

I attempted the repair with the older phone but lost some screws already.

Also the new phone I was able to FINALLY get out of the boot loop but pressing the right button will usually put it right into boot loop again...

Any advice on the right button?

Should I go with the repair on the newer phone and try and reseat all the connections?

Is there a step by step tear down of the xs?

I bought a screen replacement from Amazon and just want some advice on the earpiece thing as I don't care that much about face ID.

Thanks.
