iPhone SE: Black screen after successful battery replacement

Long story but gives all background.

Replaced the battery and the SE started ok. Transferred data from the phone it was to replace and then it wanted an iOS update.

That worked fine but then it wanted to connect to iCloud to restore some other data.

For that I needed to get the password from my other Iphone which sadly had just gone flat. It was late, in fact wee hours 1am, so I went off to sleep with my other phone charging.

Next day the SE would not respond in any way.

Tried accessing via USB to MacBook no sign of life.

Tried restarts including the 15 second top plus home, no joy.

So reopened the case, that is lifted the screen once more to check if maybe the screen connector has popped off. It was secure.

Thinking maybe the battery had died or its connector has come loose I checked and it seemed secure.

Disconnected the battery and checked it has around 4 volts, still charged.

Put everything back together including the very very fiddly screen connector clip that took longest of everything to get just right and ended back where we started: nothing, no response.

Any ideas?

iPhone SE: If its screen is faulty, iPhone SE won't boot?

Hello! I am trying to fix my old iPhone SE (1st gen).

When I tried to charge and turn it on the phone again, regardless of the long duration of charging, my phone was not responsive at all (black screen, no haptic, no charging indicator on the screen).

I thought that the battery might be completely dead so I brought a new battery for testing.

I also have another pair of iPhone SE, the new battery works fine with another pair, but it is not working with the phone I am trying to repair. I suspect the screen causing the issue, because when I replaced the screen from another pair, it works fine.

So, I wonder, could iPhone SE detect that its screen is faulty? And when the screen is faulty, iPhone SE does not boot at all? I thought that, even if the screen is faulty, the phone itself will boot, so I can check the phone is at least working by haptic, sound, etc.

At this moment, I figured out that at least the digitizer part of the screen works fine.

iPhone SE: iPhone SE 2016 taking 5W of power but shows no signs of life.

It’s taking 5W of power but shows no signs of life. Also nothing when connected to a PC. I’ve heard that if your digitiser/screen fails on these models that they will show no signs of life. I’ve opened up the phone and it has the original Apple battery BUT an aftermarket fake screen (That looks to be low quality). So I’m guessing I need to do a screen replacement right?

iPhone SE: Issues restoring phone after battery replacement

After replacing the battery in my 1st Gen iPhone SE, it kept just showing the Apple logo and rebooting continuously from there. Hard resets made no difference, but eventually the phone showed the screen asking to be restored, and stays on this screen for however long I leave it there. However, upon every attempt to restore it it immediately reboots as soon as the spinning wheel under the Apple logo appears and the restore fails with a 4013 error. I've taken the phone back apart a couple of times and checked all connections and nothing appears to be loose or misseated. What could be the problem?

iPhone SE: Screen no longer works after battery replacement

I recently changed my iPhone SE (1st gen) battery and encountered a weird problem. The iPhone SE screen stopped working. I dismantled my iPhone 5S screen to replace it.

The weird part is, my iPhone SE screen works on my iPhone 5S. So I don't think I have broken anything on the iPhone SE screen. May I know why is it so?

I probably broke something during the replacement. The home button on 5S doesn't work now. I don't think is because of the screen because it works on SE.

Summary:

SE screen doesn't not work on SE body and 5S screen works on 5S body.

5S screen works on SE body and SE screen works on 5S body.

Home button doesn't work for both 5S screen on 5S body and SE screen on 5S body.

Iphone SE: Why can't I turn on the display sometimes?

I have recently changed the display on my SE 2016 Iphone with a brand new one and now sometimes when the phone is on sleep mode and I try to turn the display on by pressing either the home button or the power button on the top, it does not react in any way, the screen remains black. I usually have to repeatedly press the home and/or the power button to be able to turn the display on. This only happens about 30% of the time. Most of the time it works properly. I thought I might have not pressed the display flex cable properly. I have opened the phone again and connected the flex cables again but it did not help. Could it be that I damaged somehow the display flex cable? Or it could be a software error?

iPhone SE: home button ribbon cable came disconnected after screen removal

I tried to remove the screen slowly as suggested, but it popped off suddenly and the end of the ribbon cable attached to the home button appeared to have detached completely.
iPhone SE: Battery drain with AP heat.

This phone has a power problem. I recently replaced the battery and it has a life expectancy of 100 percent.

However, if you leave the screen on without doing anything, the battery will be used 5 percent per minute. This is accompanied by heat generation in the AP region covered by the metal plate on the motherboard. Sometimes, when no heat is generated, the battery consumes relatively slowly, but still consumes quickly.

I tried factory reset and boot with the display and home button module removed, but the problem was not solved. This does not appear to be a short circuit by the display and the home button module. I couldn't test the battery because I didn't have an extra battery.

I don't know if it's because of the bad battery, or if it's heat and battery consumption due to a short circuit in the chip.

iPhone SE: Issues after forgetting passcode and resetting iPhone SE

I have three iPhones (2 SE and 1 5s) running with the same Apple ID. I forgot the passcode used in the SEs(common passcode) while the iPhone 5s passcode was different and I remember it. After exhausting all the chances of entering the passcode, I had to erase and reset one of the SE. Now, when I am setting up as a new phone, it is asking me to enter the passcode, I tried one more time but in vain. So, now I have the option to click forgot passcode and enter the passcode used in any other device but surprisingly 5s is not mentioned even though it uses the same Apple ID. What would happen if I click on forgot all passcodes? Should I just go for this option or again do trial and error to hit the right passcode? Are there any specific number of chances here eg 10 chances or now I can try for an unlimited number of times? Also, remember I still have to unlock my other iPhone SE which had the same passcode that I forgot so if I am able to get it right, I might just save the other SE from resetting and losing data.

If I do trial and error on the reset SE, how many chances do I have and if I don't hit the right one after multiple tries, will my icloud data get deleted or Apple ID get locked?

Further, I restored the backup of SE from mac to a spare phone i.e. 6s. Again, it asks passcode and the forgot passcode option doesn't give the option to enter 5s passcode, surprisingly. Right now, in 6s it says you can not use certain services if you don't enter old passcode, what does this mean?

If I restore 5s with the SE backup, will it ask me the passcode of SE? Also, after restoring the backup can Apple ID be changed?

In case Apple deletes all my icloud data, if I restore from Mac backup will I get all data back in my phone eg notes?

Final question, is it mandatory to turn on icloud setting on each device individually, even though they are running same Apple ID?

I know this is a precarious situation for me and I have asked too many questions in a single post but any help would be highly appreciated.
