iPhone 5c: Battery replacement worked at first, but now the phone won’t turn on.

I replaced the battery on my iPhone 5c by following the instructions on ifixit. Per the instructions, I charged to to 100% and an additional 2 hours after that. The phone turned on and was working fine. I left it alone for a few days for the battery to run out so I could charge it 100% again to calibrate it, but now it won’t turn on at all.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I remembered the part in the guide about how the lcd connector might disconnect when reassembling, so I opened up the phone again to make sure it was connected, and it was, but I tried reconnecting it again anyway, and it still isn’t working.

There is a chance I mixed up the 1.7mm screw with one of the 1.3mm screws. The text guide and the video guide do things in a slightly different order, and I misunderstood when disconnecting those screws and didnt keep them separate at first. I did use a magnifying glass and carefully compared the screws for a while to determine which one was slightly longer. If I had mixed them up, would the phone have booted up at all the first time?

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

iPhone 5c: Can this iPhone 5c be recovered?

I found my old iphone 5c it looks like it had some water damage and the screen was cracked. I remember about 8 years ago i dropped it and the screen stopped working. I was able to remove the screen and it is it a little rusty. Is it worth it trying to recover it I did have some photos i didnt get to save. I bought a new screen and battery hoping it could at least power on. I also accidentally cut the top ribbon under the battery but the bottom one is still connected Any thoughts?

iPhone 5c: iPhone 5c completely dead, no power

i have an iphone 5c which is just completely stone dead. i have tried a brand new battery with no luck, tried reconnecting any cables going to the logic board and still no luck, i have inspected the logic board and charging port assembly which have no signs of damage whatsoever. i had heard about the charging ic going bad on iphone 5c's but by plugging in a new charged battery would still mean that it would boot up but not charge right?

also a few things to note. i have this charging brick which generates quite alot of electrical noise, if i plug in a working device the noise would go away and the device would start charging, but if i plug in this phone the noise only partially goes away.

iPhone 5c: Replacement Logic Board Still Won't Power Up/On?

I replaced both the battery and the logic board (twice), but my iPhone 5c still won’t power up. Aside from human error; on My part, what else could be the problem? Since I replaced the logic board twice I am assuming the logic board is no longer the problem. Having said that I had to buy from a source I was not familiar with. Are there any other parts that could cause this problem? Again, I am open to human error on My part, but I did want to ask.

iPhone 5c: iPhone screen colors are dark, screen flickering after being dropped

My brother’s iPhone 5c was dropped from a high shelf and now the colors are dark and the screen flickers. I can see faint outlines of apps on the home screen sometimes in other apps. I opened the phone and unplugged the screen and plugged it back in, and the problem is still there. I noticed that the glass seems to be separating from the rest of the screen, and the battery (which was replaced a few years ago) fell out, it was just held in place with some double-sided tape. Do I need to replace the screen? Or would this be possible to fix, ideally without spending any money?

iPhone 5c: iPhone 5c Unable to Restore "An unknown error occurred"

I bought an iPhone 5c off of eBay knowing it had this issue and thought it would be an easy fix. But after trying 3 different computers (Windows & Mac), countless lightning cables. and everything in-between, This iPhone just doesn’t want to restore. I keep getting the following error:

The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred. (48). 1303.FFFF

Because of the phones age, Apple Support is not helpful. I am good at replacing components and am starting to do basic micro soldering, but I don’t know what would cause this issue.

Any ideas?

iPhone 5c: Mute switch not working after housing replacement

Hi all,

I have recently completed a housing replacement on a 5c and all functioning well with the exception of the mute switch.

I am not sure what is going wrong. The mechanical switch on the flex cable functions fine put the plastic silent button doesn't seem to be latching on to the mechanical part.

The plastic part isn't defective or misshaped because I have tried with known working parts and the issue is the same.

Should the plastic part click into place or just rest on the mechanical switch?

iPhone 5c: Phone finds Network only when cable is plugged in

Having received a phone with unknown history and having reset/ updated everything the phone did not find a network, despite no sim problems and Imei and Modem settings clearly displayed ( no IC chip fault).

1)

By there luck I noticed that, once connected to USB cable ( cable not yet plugged into computer or charger) the display lights up - that should. not be ?.

2)

With cable inserted and connected to MacBook ( and wifi on f that matters) the Phone now immediately logs into the mobile network of its simcard ( not using this provider in other phones so I am sure this is not a shared connection).

Unplugging the cable from the phone immediately has it searching for signal again, not finding any until I plug it in again.
