iPhone 4 Verizon: iPhone turns off as soon as I put the back cover on.

I work as a repair tech at a cell phone repair store. And this is something i've never seen as long as i've been working in the business.

An iPhone 4 CDMA came in for a screen and back cover replacement. So we did the repair and the phone worked fine. The customer came back in about a week later saying the phone wont turn on. It ONLY turns on when it's plugged in to the wall. So naturally I decide to swap the battery, and it still doesn't work. So I try more batteries, and none of them are working. I got fed up with putting the back on so many times I decided to try the rest of the batteries with the back off. The first battery worked, so I said OK. I went to go put the back on, and as soon as I put it on the phone died.

Then I took the back off and the phone powered up again, (powering it on with the button).

As soon as I put the back on, it works. As soon as I slide the back down into place, the iphone dies.

Also, with the phone back off and the phone working, it does all sorts of things. The battery percentage is extremely imprecise. Jumping from 32%, to 47%, and to 100%, and to 0%. I know it's not a battery issue as i've tried about 20 batteries. Does anyone think it could be the charge port? Or some kind of chip on the mobo that reads the battery's percentage?

I've never seen this before in my life and I need help, I can't find anyone else on the internet that this has happened to. I don't quite like having to refund people their money, and neither does my employer.

iPhone 4 Verizon: Removing oil from inside my iPhone.

My IPhone and I got saturated with oil in a work related accident. What would be my best option as far as cleaners to remove the oil from the circuits and internals of phone. The phone still works with the exception of the lower microphone and the screen has a dark cloud behind the display ,which is the oil spreading. Thanks in advance for your time.

iPhone 4 Verizon: No Display and Repeating Charge Chime

Hello, I have 2 iPhone 4's on Verizon. I wanted to swap the screens on them since one is in locked and the other one is shattered. After a very long process of lost screws and frustration I finally have the good screen on the good phone. The only thing it does now is show up in iTunes and keep making the charge chime. I have put the other board in the housing and it does the same thing. I have even tried the cracked screen on both boards and the same thing happens. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out.

So basically I bought an iPhone 4 CDMA Verizon screen replacement from you guys on Amazon and I replaced my iPhone 4’s cracked screen. However, when I was done with the repair the touch does not work. Everything else on the device works except the touch. I love this old phone and any working answer would be amazing.

iPhone 4 Verizon: iPhone won't charge, 2 battery replacements and no service

I had a problem where my phone wouldn't charge. I thought it was the battery, but 2 battery replacements later the problem still persists. After the battery replacements the phone works fine, then after a day the phone starts to randomly die and then will not turn on again. When plugged in the phone blinks the apple symbol and then eventually will go to the home screen fo a little while but I won't have any service. I am out of ideas of what could be wrong. What do you guys think?
