iPhone 15: Face ID replacement confusion on iPhone 15 – does a used module work?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to get a clear answer about Face ID replacement on recent iPhone models, especially iPhone 15.

Online information is very confusing. Some sources say that starting from iPhone 16 it is possible to replace the Face ID system with a used or donor component and still complete the repair and have it fully functional.

However, other technicians claim that even on iPhone 15 it is already possible to replace the Face ID module with a used part from another device and that it can still work after proper installation or pairing procedures.

At the same time, there are also many claims saying that Face ID is still strictly paired to the original TrueDepth system and logic board, and that replacement with used parts will not restore functionality at all.

So my question is:

Is Face ID on iPhone 15 still strictly locked to the original TrueDepth module and logic board?
Or is it actually possible to replace it with a used/donor module and complete the repair successfully?
And is there any real difference starting from iPhone 16 regarding this limitation?

I would really appreciate confirmation from technicians or anyone with real hands-on experience, because the information online is contradictory and unclear.

So I have had this iPhone 5s for quite sometime now and it has worked perfectly. Then after dropping it in water the screen broke but the phone was perfectly fine because I plugged it into a monitor via HDMI and was able to use it perfectly. When my new screen arrived from IFIXIT I installed it and after the instillation my phone infinitely stayed on the apple logo doing nothing. But if I unplug the screen then boot it up then it turned on fine. Now though for some reason when I turn it on with the screen the apple logo flashes then turns off but the backlight is the thing that flashes not the display. If I flash a light on the screen I can see the infinite Apple logo. I even tried the old screen but it still does the same thing. But like I have done so much using my 5x, 10x, and 15x microscope to find out anything that could possibly be wrong, but I don't see anything. My phone doesn't have long screw damgae cause I checked in the screw holes and that blue padding for the screws are still in there and there are no scratches. I have restored my phone twice and still nothing has changed. What can be wrong?

i can only find the glass with the ring on ebay but the ring for the glass is soldered on the frame of the phone. i tried to heat it up but i cannot remove it.

I have been purchasing screens off of Amazon and ebay that are labeled as OEM, however there have been several wother defects. For those of you out there who have official repair shops or a reputable business, who is your part supplier? I'd like to buy OEM parts but don't want to pay exorbitant amounts for them, who is the best retailer? This applies to all iPhone models, I just selected 6 plus arbitrarily. Thanks

My iPhone 16 has suddenly stopped charging via the USB-C port. It still charges perfectly fine using a wireless charger, so I know the battery and main charging system are functional. I have already tried a forced restart and thoroughly cleaned the USB-C port with non-conductive tools, but there was no change. There has been no liquid contact or physical damage that I can recall. Has anyone else encountered this on the 16 series, and is it likely a hardware failure of the USB-C flex assembly or a known firmware bug?

I replaced my iPhone SE into a clear plastic custom housing shell that i bought online. For picture reference on what i'm even talking about, here is a photo. Everything on the phone functions perfectly, except for the NFC antenna.

I didn't notice this for many months because i rarely ever use apple pay. But i just decided to today and failed to get it working. Everything else on the flex cable works perfectly (volume rockers, mute switch, flash, power button, & vibrator), but nfc doesn't seem to function at all.

Does having a plastic shell inhibit the ability to use NFC? Did i not move a certain part over? Any ideas on how to trouble shoot?

iPhone SE 2020. Home button works normally, but Touch ID does not respond at all when adding a fingerprint. No error message appears. The phone was opened previously for network repair. Hidden Apps are asking for Touch ID and never fall back to passcode. Has anyone seen this before?
