if it’s ok on here to ask this for a iPad I legally own. I need to find someone who I can pay to do a permanent removal of a iCloud activation lock on a iPad mini 5, ‘Wi-Fi only’ can anyone recommend to me who I should contact to get this done?

Hi, my wife’s 3y/o iPad mini 5 died the other morning. Wouldn’t startup, wouldn’t charge.

I tried all the online suggestions but no joy.

I decided to replace the battery but first I removed the old one (partly to check my ability to do this ok) and found it at 0 volts.

So I ordered a new one and, before fitting, was surprised to find it also at 0 volts.

I wouldn’t have been too surprised but the spare battery I had ordered for my own iPad mini 2, two years ago, was still showing 3.5 volts.

However, the battery seller encouraged me to fit it and charge the device. I did this but no joy.

My real question is; “would you expect a NEW battery to arrive CHARGED?” ie. Is it possible I’ve been sold a dud battery?

Since the EU store is not selling parts specifically for the iPad Mini 5, I was wondering about the interchangability with the Mini 4. In terms of size and specifications, the screen of the iPad Mini 4 and 5 are identical. Can a screen of the Mini 4 be placed onto the Mini 5 or is the connector slightly different for example?

I bought a replacement Screen and digitizer The screen works great but the digitizer docent some spots don't register on the left and right in portrait mode and in regular mode I can't see ANY damage The connector looks good. Is there Something you have to cover or is it apple's prioritization

iPad turns on and off constantly with the new battery. It does not turn on at all when not plugged in. When it is plugged in, the Apple logo appears for a few seconds then disappears, again and again. The iPad works fine when I plug the old battery back in.

iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: ipad mini 5 touch id works but the home button does not

I had a technician replace the screen on an iPad mini 5 recently and the device came back because the home button was not functioning properly. The technician proceeded to replace the screen again and it was working before he laid the screen down flush into the frame. Now it’s not working again and I’m going to be opening this device to see if it could’ve been two defective screens or maybe a torn home button flex but I was just wondering if anybody has come across this issue and if so, do you know of any solutions if it is not the screen or home button?

Had water damaged over a year ago due to crack screen. Worked and charged for awhile but eventually was unable to use due to it saying it needed to be plugged into iTunes to be restored. Haven’t tested for some months and now it’s not charging or turning on. Does it look fixable? Can I just order a new screen and restore?

Hello,

I have an old iPad that I’d like to try fixing myself as a personal project.

The problem is that it’s stuck in a restart loop. I see the Apple logo, then it seems like there’s some kind of short inside, and it restarts again. Sometimes it shows a pink screen, and other times it manages to boot into iOS, but after a few minutes it shuts down and goes back into the loop.

The battery is fully charged, and I also tried doing a factory restore, but I can’t complete it because the iPad won’t enter restore mode properly—iTunes throws an error.

My questions:

What could be the hardware issue?
Where can I buy the spare parts?

I am working on an iPad mini 5 that had a damaged charge port. I replaced the charge port and now when I try to turn it on, it does not power on at all. Amp meter shows 5v for like 1 second and then it reboots itself over and over. I found a spot by one of the screen connectors where I knocked off some components. It’s looks like 3 diodes and 2 other components are missing. I need to find out what these missing components are for and if they could be causing the issue I am having.

Hi, To start off I’m still learning as a hobby so i hope i can learn. So I got this Ipad mini 5th gen that came in no power and no charging. The usb ammeter shows no current and not detected by pc. Then i found out there is vcc main short at the PMIC. So when i lift the pmic, the short gone. After replaced the pmic, it still cant be turned only after i found out that there is a shorted cap on PP2V63_Nand and i removed that and the short gone. I also learn the that the PPVBUS voltage drop to 3.7v, so i suspect that the charging ic(not the hydra aka usb ic) is bad i guess. So i lifted it up and the 5v restored.

The problems:

It can turned on normally, but it has charging problem, the moment I plugged in charger, it shorted. lifted up charging ic shorted gone and can be turned on.
It automatically turned on even i dont prompt to boot. Current on dcps start from 250mA and rises normally

I attempted to replace the screen of a IPad mini 5. After testing, I noticed the screen blinked/flickered once and then turned off. I did a force restart and tested the iPad on the old screen and the same thing continues to happen. Plus while Repair I noticed I forgot to disconnect the battery cable… Please assist. I was trying to help a friend, would hate to pay $500+ for a new iPad. Thank you.
