iPad Mini 6: Can’t find display replacement for ipad mini 6

3 month after i bought my ipad mini 6th gen a line like a crack appeared in my display. It started on one side and got longer, until it reached the other side. It is not straight, it goes upwards. It has to be in the front panel glass.

i always had a display protection glass on my ipad, and a case around it, which covers every corner. The protection glass is perfectly intact, the crack is underneath it. I have no idea how this happened. But i think, Apple won’t believe me that its not my fault, so i don’t want to take it to the store.

So I’d like to replace the display by myself. But i can’t seem to find it anywhere. Do you have any idea where to get one or why there isn’t any?

Hello, This iPad had a badly broken digitizer and screen. I installed a brand new digitizer screen assembly using clamps to ensure a firm and consistent seal. What could be causing the new screen to have a colored strip with various colored lines on the left side of the screen?

Just received a refurbished iPad mini from eBay that otherwise seems great but when dark mode turned on noticed these blotches that only appear on dark background. Are they stuck pixels? Would those flashing colour videos or massaging them (I have an Apple Pencil I could apply pressure with) help or does this look more serious?

The seller offers a warranty and eBay has their guarantee but curious if it’s an issue that can be fixed without having to send it back.

iPad Mini 6: Is original Display IC needed when replacing iPad Mini 6 screen?

I have an iPad Mini 6th gen with a damaged display I’d like to swap out. I’ve heard that the Apple Pencil doesn’t work after a screen replacement on some iPad models, unless you transfer the original display IC to the replacement screen. Is this the case for the Mini 6?

Also, would the Apple Pencil keep working if I use an aftermarket display (a lá Aliexpress)? Does it matter whether it’s an original part or not in this regard?

iPad Mini 6: Battery Replacement led to Screen Fail?

Hi All - My ipad mini 6 was showing signs of poor battery life, so I got an ifixit kit to replace the battery, as well as a silicone heating pad made for doing this stuff. I thought it all went well, but when I reconnected the new battery, the screen had maybe 30 horizontal bands of different widths and colors across it, and now won't turn on. SO, I think i may have damaged the screen cables which I know is possible - I swear I was careful : ) - and this being my first time doing this I probably did something off. In any case, my questions are 1. Does it sound like I damaged the cables? Anything I should try? 2. If I did damage the cable/screen assembly, can I replace just the cables, not the whole screen and 3. If it is the whole screen, any suggestions on getting one cheaply? I've already put $150 into this, and the device is worth maybe $350, so feeling the pinch!

iPad Mini 6: Does Mini 6 Touch ID lock button replacement need to be paired?

Hi, I have two iPad mini 6's and would like to swap the Touch ID button from the old one to the new one. They both work, but the new one is loose in its socket with a weird rattle. I remember when Touch ID first came out, the button was paired with the motherboard and only Apple had the equipment to re-pair a replacement button. Since that time, I feel like I've read that this is no longer the case, but I can't find any straight answers online that are more recent. I know I can phyiscally make the swap, but it's a lot of work if it just turns out to not work in the end. Does anyone have a current answer about that? Thanks.

iPad Mini 6: iPad mini 6th gen won't charge and kicks charger off.

A couple days ago I was playing with a new charging voltage/ammeter, the FNIRSI FNB58, which I recently purchased, and was learning how to use it.

I was playing with the PC interface and had the micro USB port going to my PC and had my 140-watt universal charging pack going to the USB-C input port and would plug devices to charge into the USB-C output port. I've used this before with my phone and a MacBook Pro I repaired, and I was getting mixed results.

Sometimes when I plugged the devices in, it would call for fast charging, and sometimes it would only low charge or not charge at all, and I couldn't figure out why. On this day I would plug in my iPhone 17 Pro, and it would only draw 5 volts and less than 1 amp, but the phone was almost fully charged, so I decided to plug in my iPad mini, and it was charging, but at some point, while going through the settings, I noticed the iPad charging indicator started going off and on, so I eventually unplugged everything from the tester, plugged my 140-watt charger into the iPad, and walked away.

Later that night I noticed my iPad was almost dead after being on the charger all day, so I plugged it into a USB-C Anker pack to see what's up, and when I plug the iPad into it, it immediately kicks the power bank off.

I wasn't sure what was up, so I plugged the iPad into my PC, which gave an error stating that the device I plugged in was calling for too much power or something like that.

I've since removed the screen to take a look, and what I've found is that it definitely isn't the port because when I unclip the port's ribbon cable and plug into it, the charger pack stays on fine, but when the port is reattached to the logic board, it immediately shuts down, so I'm assuming there's a short somewhere, but I'm not 100 percent sure where to look.

I also charged the battery with my bench-top power supply at 4 volts and 1.5 amps externally and got it almost fully charged so I could back up my iPad, so the battery seems to be fine too.

I can't seem to find a board view file or schematic anywhere, so I'm looking for anyone who may have dealt with a similar problem or may have suggestions on where to look. I do have the ability to do voltage injection with a thermal camera, I'm just not sure where I should inject. Thanks for any help.
