iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: Is this too water damaged to fix or can I just replace the screen?

Had water damaged over a year ago due to crack screen. Worked and charged for awhile but eventually was unable to use due to it saying it needed to be plugged into iTunes to be restored. Haven’t tested for some months and now it’s not charging or turning on. Does it look fixable? Can I just order a new screen and restore?

iPad Mini 5: Apps won’t delete after getting screen replaced a few years ago

Hi There.

I actually dropped my iPad a few years ago and got the screen replaced. Now though, and when I first got it back after being fixed, a problem showed up with the the apps.

I can install them just fine but when I want to delete them now it doesn’t seem to work. When I press on the screen and the apps start to jiggle then press the x button nothing happens.

When I go into iPad storage and try and delete an app from there it just has the pin wheels going for a more time then reasonable before it just stops and doesn’t delete. I have tried restarting the app then deleting, deleting on airplane modes and looking to see if anything can help but it won’t work

The touch screen as well is just hard to deal with as sometimes when I’m typing ,like putting in my password to unlock, the last number will not press and it takes a few tries.

I already spent far to much trying to fix the screen the first place and they clearly didn’t do a good job reinstalling properly (as the bottom left corner of the iPad when I got it back where lifting up when I got back home and now this constant problem I’ve just been ignoring) so I don’t want to go back to the place. so I was wondering if there’s a way to fix the apps not deleting problem or if i should just try and replace the iPad.

iPad Mini 5: iPad mini stuck at 0% remaining, always rebooting.

I recently got my iPad's cracked screen fixed and power button fixed (it was sunken), when I started to get issues with the battery. I charge it to 100% one night and then it reboots on me, it says 0% remaining and it'll only work for 2-3 minutes before rebooting (the screen also starts glitching a lot, sometimes turning bright pink before rebooting) and this has been going on for a whole week and the device hasn't been functioning. Why could this be happening and how can I fix it?

iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: iPad keep restarting on Apple logo - some pink screen

Hello,

I have an old iPad that I’d like to try fixing myself as a personal project.

The problem is that it’s stuck in a restart loop. I see the Apple logo, then it seems like there’s some kind of short inside, and it restarts again. Sometimes it shows a pink screen, and other times it manages to boot into iOS, but after a few minutes it shuts down and goes back into the loop.

The battery is fully charged, and I also tried doing a factory restore, but I can’t complete it because the iPad won’t enter restore mode properly—iTunes throws an error.

My questions:

What could be the hardware issue?

Where can I buy the spare parts?

Thanks!

iPad Mini 5: I think the power button broke, & I have no Idea what to do.

The Ipad is in bad condition (IE: screen cracked, bottom glass is destroyed, but backlight is fine). Because of this some of the wiring is exposed and a friend was messing with it & messed with a little tab 2 inches from the bottom left, labeled "-2177-A' and then what I can barely make out to be "A.85:7 and then under the 85:7 "290" (also I am sorry if my description is bad, I dont exactly know how to describe it, on top oof the fact that I can barely see it). When she did this the Ipad's display immediately shut off and the power off sound played. When she couldn't turn it back on she used the power button, which produced no results (not even a sound). I was panicked and left it to charge for a night, and it was still the same in the morning. I was able to get it to turn on somehow while fidgeting with it, but when it is on the power button wont work to turn it on, & the only way I was able to do so was by messing with the tab that broke it in the first place. Now I am back in the place where it wont turn on & am asking for help on the internet. I hope that someone can help me with my issue :/

iPad Mini 5: Charges using a power adapter but will not charge from a PC

Hello. I have a iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi version which had damage to the charge port. I replaced the charge port and it charges fine using a 30w Apple power supply. When I tried to connect it to my computer, it does not charge and the computer does not show its connected at all. I tried multiple computers and cables and its all the same. Even when putting the iPad in recovery mode, it does not connect to my computer. I was checking some voltages on the board while it was charging and noticed that PPOUT_E75_ACC_ID1_CONN is always about 2.8v and PPOUT_E75_ACC_ID2_CONN is always 0v. Is this normal? Both measure about .398 in diode mode, so not short. I replaced the Hydra IC just in case, but I still have the same symptoms. Could it somehow be a bad charger flex cable?

iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: Ipad knocked off component identification

I am working on an iPad mini 5 that had a damaged charge port. I replaced the charge port and now when I try to turn it on, it does not power on at all. Amp meter shows 5v for like 1 second and then it reboots itself over and over. I found a spot by one of the screen connectors where I knocked off some components. It’s looks like 3 diodes and 2 other components are missing. I need to find out what these missing components are for and if they could be causing the issue I am having.

iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: Auto boot before prompt to boot

Hi, To start off I’m still learning as a hobby so i hope i can learn. So I got this Ipad mini 5th gen that came in no power and no charging. The usb ammeter shows no current and not detected by pc. Then i found out there is vcc main short at the PMIC. So when i lift the pmic, the short gone. After replaced the pmic, it still cant be turned only after i found out that there is a shorted cap on PP2V63_Nand and i removed that and the short gone. I also learn the that the PPVBUS voltage drop to 3.7v, so i suspect that the charging ic(not the hydra aka usb ic) is bad i guess. So i lifted it up and the 5v restored.

The problems:

It can turned on normally, but it has charging problem, the moment I plugged in charger, it shorted. lifted up charging ic shorted gone and can be turned on.

It automatically turned on even i dont prompt to boot. Current on dcps start from 250mA and rises normally

iPad mini 5 Wi-Fi: Replacement Battery Zero volts

Hi, my wife’s 3y/o iPad mini 5 died the other morning. Wouldn’t startup, wouldn’t charge.

I tried all the online suggestions but no joy.

I decided to replace the battery but first I removed the old one (partly to check my ability to do this ok) and found it at 0 volts.

So I ordered a new one and, before fitting, was surprised to find it also at 0 volts.

I wouldn’t have been too surprised but the spare battery I had ordered for my own iPad mini 2, two years ago, was still showing 3.5 volts.

However, the battery seller encouraged me to fit it and charge the device. I did this but no joy.

My real question is; “would you expect a NEW battery to arrive CHARGED?” ie. Is it possible I’ve been sold a dud battery?

Many thanks!

Kind regards, Mike.
