iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: Why won't my iPad mini turn on?

I was on an app and it crashed. The screen went grey, so I tried to restart my iPad by holding down the power button and the home button simultaneously. My iPad turned off, but it never turned on again.

My iPad mini is new, I bought it less than six months ago and it is in perfect condition. I have had no previous problems, and haven't dropped it or anything.

I tried holding the power and home button simultaneously for 30+ seconds and still nothing has happened. I have charged it, held just the power button down, just the home button, the volume buttons, holding the power button for five seconds, and the home button as well for 15 more but still nothing. I have also tried to connect it to my laptop, but the screen is still just black.

I don't know what to do. Please help.

Can I just change my glass screen that is cracked on my I pad mini 4; I have taken it to a shop and have been told I have to buy the full casing because you cant just change the glass screen, someone has offered to change just the glass part for me is this possible ?

iPad mini 4 LTE: Why does wifi stop working after 12.3.1 update?

We have had about 15 ipad mini 4s completely lose wifi functionality after being updated to the newest OS. In every single case, wifi functioned normally until after the update. some of them were updating from 11.x to 12.3 or 12.3.1, some were going from 12.2 to 12.3 or 12.3.1. The switch in settings for wifi is greyed out and cannot be flipped, and no wifi signals are detected during setup stages (there are routinely 4-6 access points or signals found on any given device in our building). It is absolutely without a doubt NOT a problem with our wifi, as it only happens in these devices, and only after they are updated to 12.3 and above.

Has anyone else seen this or have a solution other then the obvious “reset network settings” or “erase all settings” or restoring. This has not remedied the issue, and all antennas are properly connected.

I’m repairing an iPad Mini 4 display that had the home button ripped out. The new display didn’t come with a home button pre-installed so I ordered one.

I’m struggling with how to line up the actual home button with the rubber gasket. Are there any guides or videos that would help with this?

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: Replaced lcd digitizer, now screen flashes and wont stay on.

I replaced a cracked lcd digitizer. Now when I hit the home or power button, the screen lights up and I can see everything for a split second, then everything goes black again. It's still on and for that split second everything looks as it should. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the flex cables and the battery flex cable, same thing. Everything is snug and seems as it should be. I'm hoping I didn't damage any of the gold connectors. Any ideas?

I recently replaced the Ipad Mini 4 Lens/LCD assembly and am having issues with the power button. it performs all it's normal functions properly (power off, power on, soft reset when held with home button). But it does not lock my screen when the device is powered on. i SCOURED the settings and did not see anything to solve the issue. Did i miss something in the assembly replacement? no flexes seem to be torn or damaged. should i have put kapton tape somewhere?

iPad mini 4 LTE: Adheasive difficult to install

3 pcs of new adhesive in the kit. The small pc for the bottom was easy to install as described. The 2 for the sides were horrible. it was NOT possible to remove the “bottom” plastic keeping the top on to help install. There was no “colored” plastic on these parts except a small tab at the ends. It took me as long to install the adhesive as the whole rest of the project took.

As we all know the power button doesn't work without transferring the ic chip by the home button after replacing the screen.

In iOS 10 there was an option in the display settings to disable the screen turning off when the cover was closed and that would solve the lock button issue while you tested the new screen etc.

Where is that option in iOS 11, I can't find it anywhere.

iPad Mini 4: sleep/lock button not working after screen assembly replacement

I just got finished plugging in a new screen assembly for the iPad mini 4. I moved the original home button over, put a thin layer of tape all the way around the screen, and moved the black fabric tape from the old screen at the bottom to the new screen. Everything seemed to work fine except the sleep/wake feature. I could hold the power button down to turn it on or off but I could not put it to sleep once the screen was on. Nor could I turn it on when the screen timed out with the power button, only the home button.

So I checked again and made sure that everything was covered up with tape or fabric and it looks good. Then I took the old broken screen and connected it without the home button and the power button worked fine with the old screen. But When I connect the new one, even not glued to the frame, the power button will not work to put it to sleep or wake the device up, only to shut down or off. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

I bought a iPad mini 3 LCD thinking it was for the 4. I just found out that it wasn’t for the ipad mini 4 and now i don’t know what to do, I spent a lot on this LCD but it would cost more to send it back to china than keep it. so I need to know if a LCD for a ipad mini 3 is compatible with the iPad mini 4.

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: After charging to 100% iPad turns off due to low battery

Hey guys,

Recently I have problems with my iPad mini 4 Wi-FI.

After charging to 100% battery, iPad turns itself off with low battery indicator. If i try to turn it on just after - it still shows low battery and won’t start. After few tries it allows me to turn on again, it boots to the main screen, I can see that battery is at 100%, but if I try to do anything it shuts off again with the same low battery indicator.

It usually takes several tries (even more than 10) to get it running again.

Do you have any idea what could be wrong? I never let it drain to 0% and turn it off by itself.

Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone can help me diagnose what is actually wrong with my iPad mini before I research how best to fix it.

It started to get a grey line on the left hand side of the screen a few months ago and has steadily gotten worse.

Now if I leave my iPad on standby or when the battery is low the grey lines increase and also the image flickers. This can be solved by turning the brightness to full but once again appears when in standby mode.

I’ve attached pictures to try and show the problem. I’m assuming it’s the lcd display but the problem also gets much worse once the battery gets lower?

Any help would be great to see whether it’s worth fixing or scrapping.

Hi can anyone help identify the component which should be located in this photo circled in red , it was missing and the small component next to it was off its pads looks like pry damage to me .

It is near the short connector which go's to the display.

zxw tools doesn't seem to be much help with this board ..

Board is 820--00180-B .

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: What is the best way to adhere home button to new screen?

I have replaced the broken screen/digitizer on my ipad 4 mini, however I am trying to find the best way to attach the home button to the new screen. The home button is still affixed to the flexible gasket, and the flex gasket is still attached to the flat washer-type piece that adheres to the glass, so I just need to attach the washer piece to the glass. I need something thin enough to keep the button flush to the surface (not sunken in the hole of the new glass), yet strong enough to hold for the long term. I'm afraid if I use glue, it will stick the sides of the button to the glass. and not allow it to move at all.

I also need a solution for the worn out adhesive on the button bracket. Not sure if I should use the existing tape to hold it place and glue around it or scrape off the tape and start with something new.
