Hey everyone, I recently repaired my iPad mini 4 screen, and now, it wont boot, when plugged into a third party software, i can see that the device has kernel panicked with the error "panicString" : "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff02425db70): "filterElements: Can't find valid timing element for display\\n" @AppleDPDisplay.cpp:211, I honestly don't know what to do, any and all help is appreciated.

I have several questions.

# I replaced the battery in my ipad mini ok, but I messed up the screen/digitiser. How can I find out what it is that I am doing wrong? I was very careful removing the screen, and had an extra pair of hands while I undid the incredibly tiny screws. When it was put back together the colours are washed out, a band of different colour, and it flickers like crazy on another part of the screen. Also there are black ink blobs under the glass in the corners which you can move about but can't make them go away. I'm sure the screen/digitiser is dead (please prove me wrong ??) but I would really like to know what I did that broke it.

I saw on here a replacement screen which I am willing to buy, but I can't find the ad now ??? I remember though that it comes without the home button (because of fingerprint recognition) but I would really like a screen complete with the button. I have never been able to successfully solder anything. Is it possible to get the screen with the home button already in it?
I also saw that the screen was clear glass, whereas my screen is attached to the black digitiser and is all one item. Am I looking at the wrong thing or is the ad showing the screen as clear just for clarity?
I also saw a video which showed you how to solder in a home button and how to strip down the ipad mini. Can anyone find where these videos are?

I left my iPad mini out in the rain over nite. 24 hrs later I get a ping sound when I plug in but no visual activity. can I teardown and rinse components in de-ionized water, blow dry reassemble and resurrect ?

I have a iPad mini 4th gen model A1538 and one day stripes just appeared on it. I couldn't find the reason for this on the Internet, maybe you are familiar with this problem?

And most importantly, how to fix it? Do I really have to change the entire display?

Otherwise, the tablet works as usual.

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: New display assembly won't lay flat

I’ve had this problem twice now and cannot for the life of me figure out what’s causing it:

After display assembly replacement for the iPad Mini 4 the new display will not lay flat on the housing. it pops up at the lower right hand side as if something is pushing it up and the adhesive will not hold it. At first I thought this was the fault of a bent frame, but after much shaping and reshaping, I’ve ruled that out. the frame is immaculate. I then went through and checked the routing on all flex and antenna cables, which is also perfect. What is causing this? I can do an iPad digi repair in my sleep but this one has me stumped. Any input would be a help. Never had this issue with Mini 4 repairs before, but now seeing it on the second device in as many weeks.

the original one is bleeding pixels

the other's lcd control board (or whatever you want to call it) is fried

can i replace the board on the second one with the first?

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: After charging to 100% iPad turns off due to low battery

Hey guys,

Recently I have problems with my iPad mini 4 Wi-FI.

After charging to 100% battery, iPad turns itself off with low battery indicator. If i try to turn it on just after - it still shows low battery and won’t start. After few tries it allows me to turn on again, it boots to the main screen, I can see that battery is at 100%, but if I try to do anything it shuts off again with the same low battery indicator.

It usually takes several tries (even more than 10) to get it running again.

Do you have any idea what could be wrong? I never let it drain to 0% and turn it off by itself.

What do you think is wrong with my iPad mini 4, I replaced the screen and it all works up until the actually thing is literally together then the screen flickers black but it’s defiantly still on. I can hear it flicker etc anyone got any ideas?

iPad mini 4 LTE: Why does wifi stop working after 12.3.1 update?

We have had about 15 ipad mini 4s completely lose wifi functionality after being updated to the newest OS. In every single case, wifi functioned normally until after the update. some of them were updating from 11.x to 12.3 or 12.3.1, some were going from 12.2 to 12.3 or 12.3.1. The switch in settings for wifi is greyed out and cannot be flipped, and no wifi signals are detected during setup stages (there are routinely 4-6 access points or signals found on any given device in our building). It is absolutely without a doubt NOT a problem with our wifi, as it only happens in these devices, and only after they are updated to 12.3 and above.

Has anyone else seen this or have a solution other then the obvious “reset network settings” or “erase all settings” or restoring. This has not remedied the issue, and all antennas are properly connected.

I have used all types of different plugs and cables. I have another ipad mini 2 that charges fine. but i cant get my ipad mini 4 to charge past 2% then it only last about 20 sec once unplugged. i have tried multiple batteries too. my question is how do i diagnose if it is something like the tristar chip or if something else is wrong. i also have a spare mini 2 and was wondering if i could get any parts out of it. Thank you

iPad mini 4 LTE Battery Replacement
After following this guide on replacing the battery in my iPad mini 4. The ipad has a few issues. There is a small portion of the screen about 5-6 cm from the top that no longer registers touch input. The lock button cannot be used to lock the iPad although it can still be used to shut it down. I heard the lock button issue can be due to the smart cover setting but the "iPad case Lock/unlock" setting is missing from the settings.
I have experience with replacing batteries and Screens in iPhones and have never damaged everything so I doubt that the display ribbon cable was damaged during the battery relacement although that could be the case

I received an Ipad Mini 4 Wifi for screen repair. The Owner says it was not dropped and no water/fluid contact. there is no crack on the screen and seems like it is working. when I turn the Ipad it shows the lines changing similar to when you go from horizontal to vertical position on a phone . I just want to make sure it is not a different issue. Has anyone else seen this?

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: Why can't I delete Apps after replacing Screen w/ original Home button

I replaced the screen/digitizer combo and moved over the original home button. Put everything back together, did multiple restores, and DFU restore and I still cannot delete apps. The little x in the corner comes up but pressing it does nothing. Also when installing new apps they stall or do not even show up on the homescreeen after they’ve been installed. App store shows “open” but clicking it does nothing. Any advice on whats going on here?

The infamous Red screen of death has claimed my father's Ipad mini 4 wifi. Many people have said the problem had to do with the NAND or storage chip. I am unsure if this information is reliable.

my ipad mini 4 has a worn out charging port, as in the physical port itself got widened out due to my mistake of leaving it on the charger basically 24/7. when i tried to repair it the guy there said due to how the model was put together, the port cant be repaired or something like that. so since i cant charge it and the problem is to do with the shell of the ipad, and not the components, would it be possible to take out the components and put it into a new shell? or take out whichever parts hold the data?

this ipad has sentimental value to me, which is why i wanna keep it instead of just buying a new one.

shell being the part that all the components are stored in, or just the outside of the ipad

My ipad mini 4 has 3 simultaneous problems

Irrepairable Broken home button (but installed assistive touch)

# Locked with passcode ( i remember it)

Stuck in white screen , no assistive touch dot visible saying: press home to upgrade
after battery replacement I want to reinstall all my backed up app and info via itunes. I didn’t know I had to disengage lock and I didn’t know assistive touch would not function while upgrading. Now ipad mini is stuck. Itunes says: could not connect to ipad because it is locked. Enter passcode before it can be used with itunes.
ipad shows no passcode screen but white screen with: press home to upgrade.
it probably started reinstall back-up process and got locked.
tried volume up then together with power till black screen, then release power.
tried 5 presses on power button.
tried volume down with power.
tried all but keeps same comment on ipad and on itunes. Please help

my iPad fell into a buck of water. Then screen flickered and died. Problem is, my sister had it and turn it on again while it was wet. Now what parts of the iPad would be damage and needs to be replace. Any fixers know the common thing the breaks down after water damage. Thanks

Even when not charging my iPads battery is extremely hot, I’ve gotten a new battery yet it still generates a lot of heat even when turned off. Is it because it is old? What should I do?
