iPad Air 4: Screen Replacement- Black Screen

I’ve repaired a few iPad screens in my time, but when working on this one it initially was ok, now the screen is black and unresponsive. I’ve got a secondary new screen and that doesn’t work either. I’ve plugged in my tester and it’s showing power. I’ve tried rebooting to no avail.

Any tips on which connectors to test, common faults? Or any guidance!?

iPad Air 4: Replaced battery and broke the screen in the process

So I'm relatively new to trying to repair electronics, but it seems like a fun and useful hobby. My mom was going to replace her iPad because the battery wasn't really holding a charge anymore, so I thought I would take a crack at fixing it. I managed to get the screen off without breaking anything and replace the battery successfully. I reattached the ribbon connectors and the screen turned on, yay! I then powered it down and detached the screen while I glued down the battery (I didn't let the adhesive touch the back of the case until I saw that it worked because I wasn't quite sure I had the battery connectors completely in) then I reattached the screen and the brackets holding the ribbon connectors in and before I glued the screen on I turned it on one more time and the screen wouldn't turn on. I took off the brackets and the screen connector ribbon popped right out. I figured I didn't have it seated correctly the first time, so I reattached it and tried the screen again. The backlight turned on, but nothing came up on the screen.

I think I may have bent the pins on the ribbon connector (although I couldn't see any damage with my naked eye, on either the board or the ribbon connector). My question is, should I buy a new screen and give that a try, or should I just cut my losses and take it as a learning experience? Or is there something else I may have done wrong that I could fix?

iPad Air 4: If I had read the iFixit guide before replacing the display, maybe...

Hello! Unfortunately, I read this guide too late and replaced the display without performing the procedure that isolates the battery connector; I essentially removed the display while it was powered on. Everything else was done perfectly without any damage, but now the display won't light up. The Apple icon doesn't appear, but if I repeatedly press the power button, I can briefly see that the iPad is on. With very low light intensity, I can read the time at the top of the display.

I've done the forced restart several times, but nothing changes: no Apple icon turns on, the display is black, but, as described above, the iPad is on.

Can you help me figure out if I've permanently damaged the device or if I'm just missing something that's causing this?

Thank you very much.

Mario

I used the ifixit kit to replace the battery on my iPad Air 4 but when I put the screen back on and powered it on it was covered in lines. It still responded to different external inputs from manually resetting or turning it on and off but it was still just lines going along the length of the screen.

Hi there, I got a iPad Air 4 wi-fi (A2316) , iPad came to me with a charging issue. I replaced the charge port. It didn't work out. It only draws 0.15 amps still.

There happened another problem while I was trying to get the protection shield out on the motherboard. I desoldered some small capacitors and resistor near to the LCD fpc connector. I soldered them back but because the info was not clear on the ZXW , I soldered them wrong. Then I tried to test the screen but screen didn't work. I searched youtobe to be able to see those components' exact position on the board, then I realized I did a mistake. I measured the fpc legs on diode mode. All data lines shows OL. I know I messed up something but I don't have any schematics, ZXW drawings, working board, nothing.. I don't know what to do. How should I proceed?
