iPad Air LTE: iPad restore stuck on verifying iPad restore

I am trying to factory reset an ipad air for a customer.

In iTunes it is stuck on Verifying iPad Restore. it has been like this even overnight at one point. i have tried regular recovery mode restore, update and restore, dfu restore and a few so-called “iDevice software repair programs” like PhoneRescue. It is the same problem with itunes(macOS Sierra with latest itunes installed) and in Finder (macOS Catalina)

the iPad is stuck in recovery mode.

the owner wants the battery replaced because it is terrible, should i try restoring with a new battery installed? i don’t want to install a new battery if i can’t restore it anyways.

any thoughts?

The iPad is stuck on this screen during attempted restore.

When i unplug the ipad, itunes says error 9 occurred.

iPad Air: Battery will not charge past 1%

My ipad air only charges to 1%. The battery is flat and when I attached the lightening cable it will make the icon of the cable disappear and show a battery in the middle of the screen that appears to be charging. The ipad gets to 1% and turns itself on but that is as high as it gets. Eventually the screen goes black again and the ipad does not recognise that the cable is still attached. If I remove the cable from the wall charger and put it into the USB on my laptop the whole process begins again until I change it back to the wall charger. I have tried different cables and chargers, some Apple and some not. I initially replaced the charge port as it seemed that was the issue because I could wriggle the cable and get the ipad to show charging. I have checked the soldering and it all appears fine. I Have tried the reset method and leaving the charger attached all night but nothing changes. I am beginning to think the problem may have been the U2 chip all along. Does anyone else think that is a fair assessment or is there something else I should be looking at?

iPad won't turn on. If pushed u get some fuzzy lines then just a black screen, and it won't reboot holding both buttons down.

Has anyone any ideas ???

So I got a new iPad. then I gave my old one to my little brother and he dropped it in the bath. The iPad does nothing. It doesn't show charging symbol and and there's no sound and the screen is dead. Can anyone tell me what part is damaged? Also tried hairdryer and rice and no luck.

I wanted to replace the LCD on this iPad, as the current one is very damaged, but the new LCD is totally dead. I have gone back and forth between the old and new several times now, and the old consistently powers right up, but nothing on the new. Just wanted to check if there is something I might be missing or if maybe I just received a dead LCD. Thanks!

Hello everyone, looking for some advice. I have an iPad Air that just died and doesn't show any signs of life other than taking around 200ma when plugged in. I decided to change the battery but still have no positive signs of life. When plugged in with the new battery my meter shows current draw any where between 110 to 310ma. I believe the iPad is attempting to boot but isn't getting anywhere. I've tried all the button combination resets to no avail.

To add to this, I just checked the original battery and it has roughly 4v.

I work for a company that manages a fleet of 1st gen iPad Airs and 6th gen iPads. I’ve recently been getting a lot of iPads returned to me because of suspecting charging issues. I think a number of these issues are due to faulty 3rd party cables/chargers. Is there a way to test a lightning port without removing the display of the iPad? I just want to test if the lightning port is drawing the correct current to charge the battery.

Hello,

Should I even bother trying to revive an old iPad Air Wi-Fi (A1474)?

I was considering giving it to the little one, without any worries about her breaking it :)

The current device status shows the battery symbol after quite some time of plugging the power cord in (always showing an empty battery icon on the center of the screen), but I never see the operating system. Can I assume that the battery is completely dead?

If you believe it's worthwhile, what should I purchase to repair it?

I got used iPad Air 1 and I wanted to charge and it charges normally until it turns on what stops charging. And the worst thing is I can’t connect it to PC or Mac just no showing on iTunes or 3utool and also in finder. Please help me I though this will be for Christmas and I got this 😭😭😭

Hi Guys,

I've been given an iPad Air with charging issues. Having opened it up, it's clear that someone has already tried to attempt a fix and managed to damage pads in the process (Where the Dock and Speaker ribbon connects to the Logic Board).

Let me know if you think it's worth trying to fix. I'm hoping a fine wire bridge might be possible. Any advice on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have and Ipad Air A1474. It is a quite old one, but I would like to use it as HomeAssisstant dashboard.

The Ipad randomly switch on and off the screen, mimicking the presence and absence of the magnetic cover. Making it completelly useless

I was trying to desolder de magnetic sensor (the one that sense the cover), but looking in the guides, I don't see where it is placed... nor how to replace it...

I see that the Ipad air 2 has such sensor, but would like to understand how to fix such behaviour, and where I can find the sensor to see if it is replaceble.
