Whenever I want to verify an app in the settings, it tells me to restart, I restart, but the screen says “click home button to verify” my home button is broken, I can’t do it no matter how hard I push, tried everything, any answers please?

Please help! I have asked before and tried a few different things.

I have an iPad 8th gen. I replaced the screen and the home button failed. Whilst I couldn’t see any damage to the cable I half expected the issue.

2 days after, the iPad starting ghost touching. It disabled itself and would do crazy stuff. I assumed a simple solution of covering the surrounding on the interior of the screen. This had no affect so I ordered a new screen. It still never worked!

I looked a bit further into it and discovered the iPad does this even with no digitiser connected. This was strange!?

I somehow managed to get it to work by turning it on, then connecting the digitiser and finally the LCD. However, it suddenly stopped working again. I have tried doing the same thing but it will not work. Any suggestions?

I dropped my iPad a few years ago, which caused the screen to lift. I can easily lift the screen but it doesn't seem to affect the ipad turning on itself. Today, I plugged it in, but it's stuck on the charging battery logo, and I can't even force reset it. I'm wondering if the drop caused it to do this.

iPad 8 Wi-Fi: Can't Set Up Touch ID After Screen Replacement

I replaced a shattered screen for a coworker's iPad 8. I pulled the old home button and reinstalled it on the new screen. It functionally works, but I got an error message that Touch ID can't be set up. When I go to add a fingerprint, screen shows "FAILED Unable to compete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again." Is this simply an Apple ID issue, or do you think the home button was damaged? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

iPad LTE: Plastic front camera bracket ipad 8th lte part number

Hi, I am trying to find the front camera bracket similar to the below pic which shows the regular 8th gen bracket except I need one for the ipad 8 "lte" version. Everrywhere I look they only sell the bracket for the regular ipad 8 but not the one from the lte version which is different as it's much flatter. Anyone know the part number if there is?

Hello,

As stated in the title, I've opened my Ipad because screen went black but still made sound when charger was plugged, I shined some light with flashlight but there was still no screen, opened it without a problem, detached and reattached the connector on the back of the screen and now apple logo appears for 0.7-0.8s and then screen goes black and battery connector makes crackling noise, i removed the motherboard, inspected the battery connector and it's all good. Does anybody know what's going on? How can i troubleshoot or isolate the problem?

I have purchased the IPAD 7/8 Digitiser replacement kit. After following the guide, iPad 8 Screen Digitizer Replacement, I am at the stage where I need to return the Home Button.

The instructions are not clear on whether the Home Botton must be glued back or not?

Trying to reverse the steps is not clear on this process.

Any help would be appreciated on re-installing the components from the kit.

I was replacing the lcd of my ipad 8 when I realized that I had cut the ribbon cable for the home button. not sure how or when it happened but it happened. while looking online for a replacment I learned that touch id is tied to the serial number of the device and apple is the only one with the tools to reprogram a new one. So I got thinking theres no way apple is the ONLY person who can do it right? does anyone know if its possible to either send my ipad in to somone with the tool and get it replaced for like less than $50? or will I just have to live with having to touch id?

iPad 8: Device was dropped and now the screen is black

the digitizer only has a small hair crack and thats about the only visible damage. I opened it up and resat the lcd cable but still nothing. theres some discoloration marks on the lcd itself (not sure if thats from me or not though) which I tried to get off with a dry microfiber cloth if that means anything. any ideas? I have a replacment lcd coming so I'll try that when it arrives. in the meanwhile any suggestions?

ok little backstory for clarification: basically about a year by now, i dropped the ipad on my basement floor, wasnt a far drop at all, but when it dropped, it developed dots on the right side i believe, the dots were lighter than the rest of the screen, but the ipad still worked good, wasnt much wrong w it. this happened twice, first time, the dots faded within about a month, then happened a second time and the dots stayed since. about a few months back (march), it just randomly wouldnt turn on (the screen at least), i gave up then but im coming back to it now, i still hear my alarm, but at a low volume. when i try to turn it up, the alarm just turns off. and it will not connect to itunes, it doesnt even register to my computer in GENERAL. i feel like it charges but im really not sure because i was on silent mode before it stopped working so i cant hear the charging sound. do it need a repair or is there something i can do on my own?

iPad 8: Ipad 8 not charging after screen replacement, though port still works

Hello! I’m a bit stuck with this one:

I recently did a screen/digitizer replacement on an iPad 8. While tricky, I managed to get everything neatly reattached and reassembled. The only uncertainty I had with this repair was disconnecting the battery, the only method I found online was to slip a non-conductive card of some sort (i used a plastic sheet) in between the battery connector and battery to sever the connection (since there is no other way to disconnect it without removing the battery)

Anyway, iPad booted back up and everything worked as it should, until I went to charge it. Upon connecting a lightning cable, there is no charging indicator and the battery symbol is still red.

However:

When turned off, plugging the ipad into a charger turns the ipad on
When plugged into a computer, it recognizes the iPad.

Any idea as to what happened here, and how I go about fixing it? my only guess is to disassemble it again, completely remove the battery and fully separate the connection, then reassemble.

I bought the digitizer kit from Ifixit and followed the steps closely to complete the repair. I swapped the original home button over but now Touch ID isn’t working. I was careful with the ribbon cable so I’m not sure what could be causing the issue. Bluetooth also appears to not be working.
