iPad 7 Wi-Fi: CPU Replacement - SN reset to original, but failing activation

Hey all! Hoping someone can drop some insight for me.

Had an issue with an iPad 7th gen being braindead. When I removed its CPU, seems I didn't quite get it hot enough and caused an internal short. So I pulled another CPU from an iP7, reballed it, tossed it on, restored the ipad, Changed the SN through Purple back to the Original SN (no reason to have a different SN), restored again through DFU and am where I am now.

Boots fine, is locked to the owners iCloud, but when connecting to wifi I am getting Unable to activate
This ipad connot be activated without an internect connection...

Do I need to generate or change the BT and WIFI mac addresses as well? If so, it seems I do not have the originals to just program on through purple again. Is there something somewhere that can generate them based on the systems SN?

Hope someone knows this and can help!
Thanks - and Pics for fun.

iPad 7 Wi-Fi: iPad 7th Gen A2197 - 0.47A Draw, Won’t Turn On - Need Advice

Hi everyone!

I’m working on an iPad 7th Gen that won’t turn on. When I connect it to a charger, it draws 0.47 amps. However, if I disconnect the battery, it draws 0 amps.

I’ve watched a few videos in YouTube (mostly from NorthridgeFix) about this 0.47–0.5 amp draw issue, where the problem seems to be a short on the board. In those cases, the iPad still draws that current even with the battery disconnected. However, in my situation, the current drops to 0 when the battery is disconnected.

I’ve also checked the board using a thermal camera, but nothing seems to heat up. I tried measuring some random caps to look for shorts, but I haven’t found anything obvious.

I’m feeling a bit stuck—does anyone have suggestions on what else I could check or test?

Thanks in advance for your help!

iPad 7: Home button not aligned after replacement

Hi, so I have replaced the glass of my iPad, and put it all back together. All was working fine, but the home button did seem a bit loose. One day it slipped inside the iPad slightly so you couldn’t press it.

I have now taken it apart again to try and refit it. Initially I didn’t have the plastic circular part that went round the hole of the screen where the home button goes, so have put that on. I can’t now get the bracket and home button to align so that when you press the button, it clicks. I can still click it with my finger however, so I know it’s not broken. Am I missing something, or do I just need to keep playing round with the alignment till it works?

Thanks,

I tried Updating and Restoring through iTunes and also through a file from https://ipsw.me but I get an Error Code 4013 and I also tried using http://www.3u.com to flash iOS 14.4 and I tried getting out of Recovery Mode only to be back to a boot loop. Nothing works for me.
