iPad 6 Wi-Fi: iPad only charges when turned off.

Alright guys - I’ve seen this issue twice this week in my store, one with an iPad 6th gen and the other on an iPad mini 4. The device only charges when turned off. I replaced the charge port on the 6th gen because it wouldn’t charge at all before (according to the customer), and it worked fine for a day, but the customer came back now it has the same issue, but if the device is turned off and left on the charger for a bit, it will turn on with 70-80 percent battery. My thoughts are either a battery or a board, but I’m wondering if anyone has seen this issue before and has a solution. Thanks!

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Won't Charge, Won't turn on, Won't display the battery icon

Hey all, so this is my brother’s iPad that we’ve been having trouble with. As a quick backstory, he dropped it a couple of days ago. Since then whenever we’ve plugged it in, the lightning bolt symbol appears and the battery bar turns green, yet the battery keeps trickling down. We’ve already tried a hard reset and confirmed it was not the cable nor the adaptor itself, and in fiddling with it, it has now run out of battery. At first, the battery showed up as that red ‘low battery’ icon (and plugged in it didn’t have the charger icon, so again, it indicated charging). But now that won’t even show up. It’s just a black screen no matter how many buttons we press or how many hard resets we attempt. As of right now, it’s a brick with zero sign of life. What do you think could be wrong?

Thanks for reading :) x

P.S: I cleaned out the charging port as well with some paper, so that’s all dandy too.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Won't Charge Charge Port Issue

I wish ifixit would post a how to replace the charge port for the iPad 6th generation, because mine won't charge up anymore. I was able to bend the cable connector end a bit to get it to charge but now it won't do that anymore. The charge port has felt a bit loose inside for about a year now, so I know that is the issue.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Multiple iPads icloud locked

My wife and I own a small Cell Phone Repair Shop in Aus. We were recently approached by a large company here to fix 150+ ipad digitizers. They did not want to proceed with the repairs as they were expecting them cheaper than what we could do. They proceeded to tell me they would be donating them to charity etc. I offered to buy some of them. We purchased 21 in total from ipad 6 through to ipad 9 series. We have repaired all of them and had minimal issues(a couple without touch ID etc). We have been selling them off however there are 3 devices that are Icloud Locked. Speaking with the IT manager at this company he has informed me that they are locked by 3 individual staff who no longer work there. There were 2 others that were locked but they were able to unlock them for us. Is there anyway to remove the icloud/activation lock via a jailbreak process etc?. I don't want to sell these 3 if i jailbreak them, i will just give them to our kids to use. But i would like to get some use out of them as we have fully repaired them and they work just fine. Any help is appreciated.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Touchscreen not working after replacing the digitizer

I have got an iPad 6 A1893. It belonged to a family member and while they were using it, the touch screen just stopped working out of nowhere. They did not drop it or anything of the sorts .They were playing a game and it just kicked the bucket.

I assumed that replacing the digitizer was the solution at hand here, but after receiving a replacement component and fitting it, the touch still does not appear to be working, I made contact with iFixit as there is a chance the part is DOA and they will be sending me a replacement component to try.

But i wanted to ask the question here to see if anyone else has had this issue before and what other problem might be the cause of the touch not working.

As far as i can see, all capacitors, diodes etc are intact from the ones in view. But this was just from using a poor magifying glass. I do not have a microscrope or anything like that to check them with.

Any advice that can be given would be great. Let me know if i have missed any information that you would like to know.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Replaced digitizer, LCD not working the same

I replaced the digitizer on an iPad 6 (that was working 100% aside from the shattered screen) and now the LCD is not cooperating. Blocks of grey/white/black along the top edge. It lights up; it makes the sounds when plugged in, there was even a brief moment when though half the screen was giving white lines/blocks, I even saw the Apple logo. I’ve tried reseating the connector cable, I’ve placed a card under the battery before disconnecting the LCD, I tried the hard reset…. No luck.

The power button works; the home button works. Everything else works as it should

Can anybody confirm if the LCD really is beyond repair (somehow I damaged it in the extraction?) or if it’s something else. The prongs all look good, nothings shorted… I’m at a loss.
