I recieved iPad 6th Gen A1893 with no touch function, immediately i tried soft reset and that didn't help, I ordered a new touchscreen and tested it but still no fix, resoldered FPC connectors even tho they were holding on just fine, all diode values were normal reffering to repair wiki diode mode values for this model, I bought the same model for parts and the touch was working on it, replaced both Broadcom IC's near the connectors that were responsible for touch function but issue still remains, checked the caps around the IC's none were short to ground, looked through thermal camera nothing seems to be heating up abnormally, out of ideas, what should I try next?

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Replaced iPad battery but now it doesn’t charge

I just finished replacing a battery on iPad (6th generation) WiFi version. Replacement went smooth as I had done it before. But now when I plug the iPad in for charging it turns on for a bit, and then it seems to “short” and turns off. When I try to leave it charging for a while the same thing happens. It’s almost as if it doesn’t want to charge at all.

Prior to replacing the battery, the only thing that would happen when I plugged it in would be the screen with the drained battery symbol and the cable diagram hinting at plugging it in to charge. After leaving it charging for a while it would never boot up past the Apple logo.

After replacing the battery I can actually unlock the iPad and mess around with a few apps before it turns off again. I am mostly asking to see if anyone has experienced this before? Did I accidentally mess up the new battery when I replaced it? I’ve looked at all other connections, and ribbons. They’re all connected how theyre supposed to be. I just don’t know if this is a battery issue or a logic board issue.

iPad 6: Won't boot up and has strange charger readings

I recently got given an iPad 6th Gen, the old owner said that it gradually became more temperamental then stopped working altogether.

Plugging it into the charger (5V constantly) it starts by drawing nearly 2A which is what I'd expect but then gradually drops all the way down to nearly zero. If I try and power it on whilst on charge, it also drops to around 0.01A but this may be normal?

I need to replace the digitiser as I've noticed a tiny crack in the corner but I'm wondering whether the battery could be the cause of some problems too looking at the above readings?

Should also add that the LDI hasn't been tripped.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: iPad only charges when screen is ON.

I recently replaced the digitizer on an iPad 6th Gen. The iPad turned on and seemed to be charging. The user was not willing to give me the passcode so I completed the repair, clamped it, and left it plugged in overnight. In the morning I noticed it was still only at 3%. I have a meter and noticed that there was charge current only when the screen was on. When the iPad went to sleep the current dropped to zero. If I woke the iPad up with either the home button or power button it would start to charge again. I tried a force restart but no change. I gave the iPad back to the owner and told them about the issue and gave them some things to try such as checking for updates, reset all settings, etc. They say they tried these but it didn't fix the problem. They now say they will give me the passcode so I can troubleshoot this further. Has anyone experienced this? Is it likely a software issue that might be cured by an erase and restore? Or is there a hardware issue that could be at play? I do have a Tristar tester and it reported PASS when I tested it. Any advice appreciated.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: iPad charges up to 1% but then dies again

For a few days now I’ve been having issues with the battery on my iPad since it wouldn’t show that it was charging until I restarted it. But yesterday it wouldn’t charge no matter how much I restarted it.

I tried plugging it in to every charger that I have but none of them would work. The battery drained fast and it drained even when it was turned off. I brought it to the Apple Store and they said they didn’t know what the problem was and I should just get a new iPad. They also looked into the charging port and there was no damage and all of the pins were intact.

This morning I tried to plug it in again and it started charging! I waited for a little bit and it turned on with the battery at 1%. It stayed on a few minutes before it died again (The iPad was still plugged in and even showed that it was charging). Then it charged to 1% again and then died and the process repeated.

Just now I watched the iPad turn on. I thought like the other times it would be at 1% but it was actually at 4%!!! But then immediately went back down to 1% so I shut it completely off to see if it would lose battery. I just turned it back on again and it was actually at 5% this time??? But then immediately went down to 2%??? I am very confused. The battery is still draining even though it’s plugged in.

What I tried:

hard reset multiple times

Cleaning the charging port with a toothpick and toothbrush (when I tried cleaning it with a toothpick, black stuff came off onto the tip and I don’t know if that’s dust or grime or if I missed something???)

Updating the iPad to the most recent version

Extra info

a few months ago I dropped the iPad when the charger was still in it. The iPad was fine but the little metal part on the charger that goes inside the charging port was snapped off and got stuck inside. I was able to remove it but maybe it caused some lasting damage??

Ever since then I had to use an old charger that I had and the iPad has been charging, but a lot slower. I don’t know if that’s caused by the accident or because the charger is old.

I heard that iPhone chargers are weaker iPad ones, and the other chargers I tried to use were all iPhone ones. I don’t know if that’s a factor in this. However when I went to the Apple Store they tried to charge the iPad with one of their chargers and it still wouldn’t charge. I don’t know if they used an iPhone charger or if my iPad just really wouldn’t charge.

I’m traveling right now so maybe the voltage in the place I’m staying is also weak?? But I've stayed in this place before and it’s never been a problem before and my iPhone is still charging fine. But I don’t know the voltage for the outlets here or for the chargers that I have.

I don’t have warranty on the iPad and I don’t have the original iPad charger with me.

Please help!!!! I really love this iPad and I just want it to charge normally!!

iPad 6: Potential A10 chip failure?

I was using my 6th Generation iPad yesterday, and out of nowhere, the screen filled with green artefacts, and the device force powered off a few seconds later.

The screen then showed the Apple logo about 5 seconds later, but that quickly disappeared, and the screen backlight turned off a couple of seconds later. The device now appears to be completely dead, as it won’t respond to button presses, or recovery mode. It also isn’t detected by my PC, and the device was still stone cold after it was plugged into a 12W charger for ages, so it isn’t taking in any power.

The device was fairly hot at the time, so I thought that it might function again after cooling down, but the next day, it still won’t power on.

I have contacted Apple Support, and I’ve tried everything they’ve suggested, but they ended up saying to take it to the Apple Store.

Do you think that the A10 chip has failed? If so, there’s no chance of me reviving the device.
