iPad 5 Wi-Fi: iPad 5 Home button no longer clicking after screen repair

I have replaced the screen on an IPad 5, transferred the original home button from old screen to new, however no matter how much I try, I can’t get the button to click properly as it should. The Touch ID still works, the button just doesn’t click, have spent hours on it trying to realign to ensure the position is perfect but not getting anywhere! I’ve done with repair many times with other models and never had an issue so not sure if it’s just something with this model? Anyone have any ideas of what to do next? I noticed there was no black dot on the home button, not sure if there was one originally or not but I added one and that didn’t seem to help.

Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated????

thank you

iPad 5 Wi-Fi: Replacement right antenna cable needed

Can someone point me to where i can purchase a right antenna cable for my iPad 5th generation WiFi only device? I can easily track down the left cable but no listings for the shorter right cable. I severed the cable when I was replacing the lcd. There are some listings for the GPS cable, but those are not compatible with the WiFi only model. Any help that can be provided would be appreciated.

iPad 5 Wi-Fi: My iPad 5 Wi-Fi will not turn on.

Hello all, Similar to other questions but not quite all. My iPad 5th Gen Wi-Fi was working fine all weekend. Had good battery (say ~%50) and just went blank/turned off without notice. Could not turn on. Could not hard stop nor hard start. Tried the Home+Power restart. No joy. Has not turned on since. Took it to the Apple Store they could not connect to the iPad with their jumper~diagnostic plug in handheld. The store rep very kindly looked at me and said he couldn't get past the adapter plug or battery, in short, it was dead. Now it sits on my counter not working. I'd like to try and fix it if I could. Any ideas are appreciated. I am an electronics technician by trade but this one is too deep for me. I've got micro min repair credentials. If I knew where to start I could probably save it. Help me hive mind fixit people, you're my only hope.

iPad 5 Wi-Fi: Touch screen ghosting glitching

Hi

I am wondering if I can get some advice. I've replaced the LCD and digitizer. The touch id doesn't work and show unable to activate. So I put in the home button which came with device but it's like doing it own thing and clicking on things on screen and it doesn't work in the corners when I try to exit a page. Is this likely to be a faulty digitizer or the logic board. Hope I can get some advice. Hoping someone can help

iPad 5 LTE: home button wont work after screen repair

I had damaged my iPad 5th gen screen and digitizer and replaced with a 3rd party unit. (Factory home button was not usable) everything works but home button.I returned the first cheap eBay screen with pre installed home button, because I assumed the button or ribbon was junk. I then ordered another cheap screen with built in home button from another eBay seller, same issue. Screen and swipe work great, home button doesn’t work at all. Checked cable connector all looks good, however, when plugging ribbon into connector, the Siri ball will come onto the screen. But home button won’t work at all. Am I missing something there?????

iPad 5: iPad boots, after Apple logo backlight goes off

Dear iFixit-Friends,

my ipad starts normal and shows apple logo when booting. After a few seconds the backlight goes off.

Tried another mainboard in the same housing with the same LCD and digitizer, this is working perfecly.

While restoring via DFU or recovery the LCD shows normal image and backlight. After restore without problems the ipad starts again and shows apple logo with the installation bar below. After 1/3 in progress the apple dissapears and backlight goes off while the device boots completly, so that it is normally detected in 3uTools without any problems and it makes sounds when charger is plugged in.

Where to search on the mainboard? (we have equipment for microsoldering and measuring)

Any idea or solution?

Thanks a lot and greetings MB

iPad 5: My ipad has power and battery issues

the iPad I have has a few issues so I will sum up what the issues are that might contribute to my question.

I got the iPad last year refurbished, when it arrived the screen was partially separated from the LCD screen, I used tape to keep that part of the screen down.

a few months ago my iPad stopped charging, I changed chargers and wall outlets and even tried charging it at a different house.

I noticed that in the lock screen the battery percentage would be different than after the iPad unlocked (jumping from 75 to 15), also when it did charge I went into the battery settings and it showed that the iPad hadn’t charged and just suddenly jumped to a higher battery percentage

thinking this was an issue with the battery I replaced it.

after I replaced the battery not only did it not fix anything, my iPad would shut down every couple of minutes.

any idea what is wrong with the iPad? how I can fix it? I need to get it working asap thanks yall
