iPad 4 Wi-Fi: Is a hot plate for screen removal the way to go?

I've been repairing iPad screens for a while now. I've been using a hot air gun. I was told that a hot plate is the way to go and makes removing the screen that much easier and quicker. Do you guys think this is true? Is it worth the investment to buy one? What temperature do you set it at? Do you heat both sides? And how long do you leave it on for? Thanks!

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: I replaced my iPad 4 screen and now it won't

I just changed my screen on my iPad 4, during the initial repair my iPad jumped on, I didn't want to damage it so I waited for the battery to run empty. This took several days. then I still waited even longer to get to it, at least 4- 5 weeks.

Finally, I continue the repair, run into a couple of snags. The digitizer cable where the little black plastic thingy that locks the cable in broke. It's so small I could not get it to click down because it came loose. However, I laid it in there and placed the tape back and other tape to hold the cable in. It seem to be in there so I connected the screen cables back. I notice the speaker cable next to the home connector also came loose when pulling back the black tape, but I placed tape on top to hold it down as well. Then screwed the Digitizer down and it seems to be holding everything in place. I've been recharging for about a hour just to check if everything is working properly before I fix in the screen completely. The first thing I notice is that it won't turn on. And It's seems that everything is in place, but it won't turn on.

Do you think the digitizer connector is not in good enough, and would that even effect the battery? Or should I just continue to charge it overnight. because the battery has been out for about 4 to 5 weeks.

Or do you think that the little black plastic piece that is a lock for the connector on the Digitizer is the problem? And can it operate without the little black plastic lock. And can tape replace the little black plastic lock instead? These parts are so delicate, I noticed. What protocol should I do next to know if the battery is charging or that I've connected everything properly. Any suggestions to help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

Unfortunately I don't have an iPad schematic. The digitizer cable is not broken it's the little black plastic thing that locks it. it's really fragile. and it's on the logic board. The cable itself goes in fine and it seems snug in place as well. And my battery was completely discharged. So I'm charging it. How can I check to know if the battery is actually charging up? And does that plastic connector lock be causing the problem?

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: No LCD power after digitizer replacement

I have replaced a cracked digitizer on this iPad previously (and have done this on a number of iPads so I have some experience). This time, it cracked from being dropped on a hard floor. I noticed that the power button had also stopped working. I didn’t bother to attempt this repair this time.

I pulled the cracked digitizer off, no issues, plugged the new one in, replugged the LCD in (which had worked just fine), and there’s apparently no power to the LCD. When pressed, the home button causes the beep-beep of Siri coming on so I know there is power and something is working, I just can’t get the LCD to come back. Any suggestions are appreciated. Somehow, I don’t think replacing the power and volume button would fix this issue but I will attempt it next.

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi Antenna or Chip?

Not really a question; more like asking for confirmation of my assessment!

The Wi-Fi option is grayed out on the iPad. Bluetooth is switchable, but cannot locate devices. I’ve reset the network settings, all settings, and done a full restore of the iPad, and so I’m fairly certain it’s not software. My assumption is that it’s the Wi-Fi antenna and not the chip itself because I still have a MAC address for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
