iPad 4 CDMA: Ipad wont start and stuck in recovery mode when connected to itunes

I changed broken digitizer on CDMA version of IPad 4. Before completing the task (adhesive part), I connected the ipad to verify. I saw red empty battery charging icon at which point I disconneced. I put that aside for sometime and when I got back to it, it is no longer showing life. I tried restoring using itunes. I get a 4014 error. I changed the charging port. Same thing again. After 4014 error the ipad disappears from itunes. When I held home+ power for 15 seconds (reset) the ipad reappears with the ipad stuck in recovery mode. But I still get 4014 error. I also checked the battery - its got about 2.6 volts, so some charging is going on. the cable and charger are good because I use them with my other ipad.

Is this a lost cause or can someone point me to a solution? thanks in advance.

iPad 4 CDMA: iPad 4 Logic Board Schematic - Backlight Circuits

With the understanding the the complete schematic would be illegal to post, I'd like to see if someone could post a picture of an iPad 4 logic board with the various components of the backlight circuits highlighted and ID'd.

Any additional information that could be provided (like coil, filter and voltage chip specs) would also be greatly appreciated.

I'm working on repairing an iPad 4 that has a faulty backlight circuit, and although I've seen a few pictures on YouTube and on CyberDocLLC, I've yet to see a good picture of the actual iPad 4 motherboard with the components properly id'd and labeled with respect to the specific backlight they are controlling.

The reason I'm asking for the chip specs is so I can order 10-15 of them.

iPad 4 CDMA: Help! I can not find the connector for the home button iPad4

Dear All,

Please help me solve a small mystery. My daughter broke the glass of her screen of her iPad4. I decided to replace it, and all went until I have to place the flat cable of the home button in the connector. There is not a connecter … I checked Youtube movies and images, and I checked my table if it may be dropped, but none of this seems the case. Please find attached pictures.

iPad 4 CDMA: No touch after digitizer replacement

I was brought an iPad 4 CDMA with a broken display. I ordered a replacement and when it arrived I installed it.

Everything went good with the install but there was no touch. I tried disconnecting and connecting it a few times and it did not help. I then hooked up the original broken display and everything worked so I called iFixit and they sent out a replacement.

When that one showed up I installed it and the same thing happened, no touch but the original display works.

There has to be an explanation for this, right?

What am I missing?

iPad 4 CDMA: iPad 4: Black screen, no charging and not powering on!

I have had an iPad 4 for a while now, I decided to start using it again. I had known that the lightning connector stopped working last time I had stopped using it, and I also remember turning it off at 50%.

When I tried powering it on few days ago, it didn’t turn on or charge. So, I decided to replace the lightning connector thinking it had finally died and the battery had probably drained itself. I used the following iFixit guide: iPad 4 CDMA Lightning Connector Replacement I was actually able to replace the connector fairly easily following the guide (kudos for that!)

But, when I tried to turn the iPad back on, it doesn’t turn on nor charges. I have tried the following things:

Different charging cable.

Different wall connector of the charger (the thing that slides into the iPad charger).

Charging using a computer + iPad’s cables (in case the charger was entirely broken).

None of these result in any response from the iPad, no battery symbol, no apple logo, nothing. Would anyone have any suggestions for me to try to debug this?

Thank you!

iPad 4 CDMA: Part behind the front camera

Hi,

I had to replace the back cover of my iPad 4. For that I had to remove all parts from the old back cover. No problem so far, only the flat cable of that part behind the front camera was damaged. Does anyone know which part that is? And further where I can get a spare part?

Before I started, the iPad worked fine but now the display seems to be not working anymore. When I connect the iPad to iTunes the iPad communicates with iTunes without issues. So it seems that the iPad works fine except the display.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance :)

My 4th gen Verizon iPad crashed the other eve when a call came into my iPhone. The call registered on both devices, I answered on the phone. At that point the iPad crashed and attempted to reboot then screen went black. It was unresponsive to reset holding power and home button.

After an overnight charge, the device was plugged into a PC running iTunes. iTunes did not recognize a device was plugged in until I placed it in DFU mode and attempted recovery. There were no screen images seen on the iPad during the process. iTunes completed the download, then attempted but failed at restoring the device multiple times. I tried 2 different cords and 3 different USB ports on the PC, before attempting to restore it from iTunes on a Mac with the same result.
