iPad 3G: broken digitizer retaining flaps

Help Please. I just finished replacing the LCD on my husbands ipad (i broke it a few months ago) everything looks good except the digitizing retaining flap fell off. Is there a way around using these flaps. I managed to hold it in place and the ipad worked but it fell off again and now the screen does not respond to touch. I have never fixed a electronic device before so I was feeling pretty good about myself until the flap problem--ugh!! Any suggestions??

iPad 3G: Screen flickers when plugged into AC power, no boot.

Whenever I plug in the AC Adapter into my customers iPad, the screen flickers once every 3 seconds or so. I've tried doing a hard reset with it and nothing. I've opened her up and see no noticeable damage whatsoever. I've tried another adapter known good and the same problem happens. Any troubleshooting i'm missing? I still have the ipad open currently. I wonder if reseating the dock port will fix something.. Any help would be mucho appreciated!

iPad 3G: Where can I find the clips that secure the digitizer?

I have done the ultimate sin! I have broke the clips that hold the digitizer ribbon into the logic board.

Now the digitizer will not pick up touch!

The only thing I can do is try to replace the plastic clip that is on the connector.

i have done a massive search of google and cannot find the part without buying a complete logic board. Anyone have a source for these???

I may need more than two because I broke the other one trying to learn how to remove and reinstall!

iPad 3G: Battery not charging at all? Can it be something else?

Hi,

I've an iPad 1st Gen which doesn't charge at all.

Of course I've tried different cables and chargers.

When I connect it to power, the iPad "knows" that iit should charge, because the empty battery screen changes the icon below. (if I remember correctly, it goes from "Plug-arrow-lightning" to only a lightning icon).

I left it charging more than a night (I know it requires at least 10 miinutes) on a 10W charger, but nothing changed.

Can this issue be caused by something different than a dead battery?

iPad 3G: Ipad3g dead, was crushed

I received an iPad3g that was ran over. While the display and touch panel were broken, the internal parts did not look bad. I cleaned it up and put it back together. The display shoes white light so I ordered a new display and touch pad. I put it all together doublecheching all connections but now it is dead. While it was apart I tested the battery pack and it tested good. Prior to taking it apart I had put the new screen and noticed that the battery was almost dead as the display worked but when I attempted to charge the unit overnight it did not charge. Also, it did not get detected by my laptop and I tunes diagnostics could not communicate with it. Does anyone have any schematics with testing points I can use to diagnose? Note I disassembled this device down to the shell in order to reform the warped shell.

iPad 3G: Brightness stuck on maximum setting?

Apple iPad 3G 64GB (1st gen)

I replaced the metal casing on my iPad, which seemed to go well, but then I realized the brightness was stuck at max and can't be changed. Altering the brightness level in settings has no effect, whether or not auto-brightness is turned on. Everything else works fine. Please help me, what could be causing this issue and how to fix it? Thanks!

P.S. The brightness isn't just stuck at software max, it seems to be the maximum output supported by the hardware, slightly brighter than any brightness that can be set through the settings menu.

Update

I tried reseating all the cables including the ambient light sensor. I even bought a replacement ambient light sensor, that didn't help. The issue is the same whether or not auto-brightness is enabled, so I doubt the issue is related to the ambient light sensor.

I figure backlight limiting is tied to some kind of op-amp or an electronically-controlled variable resistor, I would expect if that component were damaged that the backlight would be always-off or always very dim. Give that I would think rather the issue may be related to a short, though I haven't seen one.

I could try replacing one of the other cables like the Display data cable, but I handled the cables well so I wouldn't expect them to be damaged. I could do a continuity test to verify the connection between each matching pin end.

To make it clear none of your suggestions worked (from your first response).

iPad 3G: How to run iPad without battery?

I bought an iPad with dead battery (it’s bulged). When I connect it to a charger, the only result is a boot loop (Apple logo, blink, Apple logo, blink…).

I want to use it as a kind of picture frame, which would necessitate constant charging anyway, so I’m reluctant to buy a replacement battery that will be of no use and dead again within few months because of constant charging.

Is there any way to forgo battery entirely? Some “fake” battery to allow it to boot?

iPad 3G: iPad LCD is probably broken, is it easy to replace?

Recently when I turned my iPad on, i saw that two thirds of its screen keep black. After a while the dark spots change their color. Although the touchscreen is still working even on the broken spots, it's pretty useless without a functional display.

Is it just the LCD which is broken or is it worse (Logic Board, etc.)?

iPad 3G: Ipad in bootloop how to fix it?

But I got the iPad out of this iTunes mode and it started booting but it doesn't go to the homescreen its just stuck on a bootloop. I also tried restoring it with iTunes and got the error 2009. But now I wanna charge the device because I think it's drained but charging is not possible in iTunes mode as what I'm aware of but I dont wanna charge it in this bootloop because I dont think its good for the device.

Im not very optimistic about this problem, I replaced my back casing, witch was a "xxxxxx" job. But everything came back together sort of. the problem is the motion sensor system has become unstable. I have downloaded an app showing me data from the gyro/accelerometers and the data fluctuates constantly, resulting in the screen not rotating, and the parallax effect needs to be turned off. so, it seems that i have messed up something and there seems to bee little I can do, Ive tried the restart and and factory reset, and total recovery via macbook.Ive tried the headphone jack thing,no joy.
