iPad 3G: How to restore the OS to my iPad that was removed by an update?

A few years ago, I was informed by my iPad (that worked perfectly fine at that point to watch youtubes) that it needed to be updated.
I connected it to my laptop and ran the update as per instructions. Only for the process to halt with a message that my iPad1 is no longer supported.
But the update process already removed or altered the operating system, so that when it disconnected, I was left with an iPad that is still physically perfect but no longer works!
I feel like it was deliberately destroyed by the "update" that clearly had not intention of updating it, but provided no warning that the process would remove its functionality.
Is there any way to restore its functionality?

iPad 3G: Screen flickers when plugged into AC power, no boot.

Whenever I plug in the AC Adapter into my customers iPad, the screen flickers once every 3 seconds or so. I've tried doing a hard reset with it and nothing. I've opened her up and see no noticeable damage whatsoever. I've tried another adapter known good and the same problem happens. Any troubleshooting i'm missing? I still have the ipad open currently. I wonder if reseating the dock port will fix something.. Any help would be mucho appreciated!

hey guys,

this ipad beahaves like in the titel. nothing on the screen. is the battery dead, or the smc ic? didnt used an original charger. could this be the problem?

I have gotten an iPad from my dad recently and when I plugged it in, it bootlooped so I decided to wait for a while. Then after around an hour it still did it and when I unplugged it, it stopped bootlooping but it does not turn on, then plugging back in it started bootlooping again. Does this mean I have to replace the battery?

Hello,

I have a 64GB 3G/GPS iPad 1st Gen (A1337) of which boot-loops whenever I start charging it and try to turn it on. I am currently trying to find a replacement battery for it and cannot find one that looks legitimate. I looked on the store here at iFixIt but the oldest gen iPad battery replacement I could find was a replacement for the iPad 2. So I am wondering if I buy the iPad 2 replacement battery if it will work with my iPad 1 and if not where can I buy a replacement.

Hello,

I own a Apple iPad 1st Generation 64GB 3G/GPS or A1337 of which when I plug in and attempt to turn on boot-loops. When I attempt to put it into DFU mode and plug it into a PC or Mac it will either immediately turn off (the iPad only boot-loops when plugged in) or if I used a adapter that allowed it to be plugged into power and the Mac or PC at the same time, it would not show up on iTunes. I'm 95% sure that it is a battery problem meaning I need a replacement battery. I looked on the iFixIt Store and the oldest iPad they supply parts for (let alone battery replacements) is the iPad 2 and anywhere else I could find that supplied battery replacements for the iPad 1st gen were on sketchy websites or hosted by sketchy sellers on places like EBay and AliExpress (even Wish at one point)

If anyone can help by sending a link or showing me a place to find a replacement battery I would be really grateful.

I have this old iPad 1st generation that just wont turn on no matter how much I try.

Not even a battery replacement didnt fix it. I really wanna try out old skeumorphic iOS and this is the only Apple device I own that runs pre iOS 7.

Hello,

I have just replaced my iPad 1 (3G) battery but now when I turn it on the apple logo apears for about 40 seconds then I get a spinning logo. It never fully turns on. The spinning logo freezes every 20 seconds, but then starts again and the cycle continues. If I plug it into power you can hear the charge sound but still nothing happens. When I plug it into my computer, it shows up for a second but goes away in about 20 seconds.

So yesterday I bought this iPad and was listed as stuck in iTunes symbol. But I got the iPad out of this iTunes mode and it started booting but it doesn't go to the homescreen its just stuck on a bootloop. I also tried restoring it with iTunes and got the error 2009. But now I wanna charge the device because I think it's drained but charging is not possible in iTunes mode as what I'm aware of but I dont wanna charge it in this bootloop because I dont think its good for the device. Also a very important thing is that when I take cable out of the device the screen shuts of. So what can I do to fix it?

The battery repair seemed to go well, but when it rebooted the screen was red and did not respond to touch. I rebooted and it stayed the same, I connected to itunes to do a restore, but problem continues.

In short, water got inside my iPad, but is still working normally. Problem is - some area of the screen are showing brighter shades like sun spots.... :(

Has anyone solved this kind of problem?

I plan to open up the screen and blow dry it using a hair dryer. Will this work?

iPad 3G: Replaced comms board - now "There is a problem with your iPad"

I was repairing an iPad where the Bluetooth & Wifi was greyed out.

I thought the Wifi/BT chip on the comms board was faulty so I swapped the comms board with one from another iPad. Both are 3G iPads.

Now it just shows the "Connect to iTunes" screen and when I connec it says "There is a problem with your iPad."

All the connections seems fine. I've done a DFU restore and it does the same thing.

Is anyone able to help?

I can only find replacement charging ports for the Wi-Fi only model, which explicitly states it will only work with the Wi-Fi only model. Is it really incompatible with the 3G model? Where can I find a charging port for the 3G model?

iPad 3G: broken digitizer retaining flaps

Help Please. I just finished replacing the LCD on my husbands ipad (i broke it a few months ago) everything looks good except the digitizing retaining flap fell off. Is there a way around using these flaps. I managed to hold it in place and the ipad worked but it fell off again and now the screen does not respond to touch. I have never fixed a electronic device before so I was feeling pretty good about myself until the flap problem--ugh!! Any suggestions??

iPad was dropped and there were lines across the screen, no cracks though. I had it repaired and it was working fine after that. The battery started draining fast and the screen became black. I thought it was the battery, like it had died or something. Until one day, I was playing around with it, charging it and pressing the home and power button simultaneously. I heard what sounded like the iPad taking a screen shot. Any thoughts? Tips? I would really like to use the iPad again.
