I got horizontal lines over the display! During the warranty period they replaced the board ( it blacked out ) and now this is happening. They refused to replace the device saying out of warranty and asked to replace it :-|. They were not even sure that changing the display will fix the issue. I am hesitant to replace the screen as I am better off to buy a new one rather keep repairing the faulty product.

Is there any way to fix it?

Tried
- Reinstall the OS
- External Display = Works fine
- Reseating those 3 cables

Lines kind of flickers, may be some lose cables?

This is my cousin's iMac. She told me she was using it one day and heard a loud pop and then the iMac lost power and it would not turn on any more. I was unsure if the problem might be the very expensive AC adapter or the computer itself so I took the computer to a Mac store in a nearby town. They tried plugging a known good AC adapter in to the iMac but it still did not turn on so it seems the iMac is the problem.

Today I took the screen off to have a look at the circuit boards inside to check if there might be something obviously damaged like an exploded capacitor. So far I've seen only one side of the two boards but I don't see anything wrong yet.

I read in another thread that there may be some diagnostic LEDs on the board which may give me some hints about the status of the computer. I tried plugging in the AC adapter, with the screen off, but I did not see any LEDs light up. I did notice there is a tiny button on the main circuit board and it may have three tiny LEDs next to it. I thought about pressing the button to see what would happen but I'd rather not do that unless I know exactly what that button is supposed to do. What does it do?

Should I proceed to disconnect the cables from the main circuit board and take it out to have a look at the backside?

I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue I am encountering following the installation of a new logic board. The original logic board had failed with no power to the iMac. I purchased a new sealed logic board from a third-party reseller and completed the insulation as per the self-repair instructions. When I turn the iMac on I am presented with the black screen showing an exclamation mark and the restore URL on it. When I try to restore the via usb-c and with my M2 MacBook Air and using DFU, I get the iMac to turn on and start the restore but after few minutes I get the following error messages;

The Mac "Mac" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (53). 0634.0035

The operation couldn't be completed.

Has anyone encountered this before or know the possible issue?

This iMac M3 has not been turned on for probably a month, however the iMac is unable to turn on now. Between that month, there is a few days where my office had multiple rapid power surge/outages because of faulty breakers. The iMac has never been turned on in during those surges/outages, however the plug has never been disconnected from the wall.

While I have absolutely no knowledge of iMac troubleshooting, I have tried everything that forums have said (power cycle, safe mode, etc.) yet it still won't turn on at all. The power button still clicks fine, so I'm thinking that the power adapter that also houses the ethernet port is fried. Are there any other possibilities I should know of before telling my boss about the possible issues and fixes?

While perusing the several installation instructions, I might have a blade SSD on the control board (unconfirmed) that is part of the"Fusion" system

Will I be able to just replace the HDD with the SSD and format and install the OS as usual and not deal with the Blade SSD, or ????

If that's any help at all, 2017 and 2019 iMac displays can be swapped and work (I tested it despite different part numbers).

If you're wondering why I want to do this, it's because my M1 iMac display is unfortunately cracked.
