AH ZED-10FX: FX Loop Creating Excessive Noise

The mixer works great, except for if I have any of the FX on. It appears the FX board is creating static or other crackling, even when the volumes of all FX are turned off. I've yet to open the case and test the effects board.

Any advice regarding troubleshooting? I'm not sure if there's a replacement board for this unit, but that may be where I end up.

behringer: Broken jack plug lodged in phones socket of Behringer Q502USB mixer

When I removed my headphones from the headphone socket of this mixer the end of the jack plug (10mm below the lowest ring) became detached, and is now stuck in the base of the headphone socket. This prevents me from plugging in other headphones, and has effectively disabled the headphone socket. Does anyone know whether it would be feasible to disassemble this unit to remove the detached segment of jack plug?

Allen-Heath GL4 Audio Mixer: Audio mixer not enough phantom power current?

When I plug in several dynamic and condenser microphones into my 32-channel 1995 Allen & Heath GL4 mixer, a specific large diaphragm condenser (LDC) microphone drops out and turns into white noise.

The mic in question works fine on modern audio interfaces

The only solution is to replace it with an small diaphragm condenser (SDC), and I was able to continue my drum recording session.

The particular LDC mic will work on the AH mixer only if it's the only microphone being powered, regardless of which channel the LDC mic is attached. However, when other channels are powered, even without mics attached in the other channels, the prior LDC drops out into white noise.

The Power Supply Unit has been recapped, about 4 large capacitor and 1 medium capacitor, and 2 smaller ones. -- save for some very small capacitors that do not look like they are blown. The problem described was already noted even for the recapping.

Maybe someone has encountered this same problem and knows where to start looking with regards to this mixer?

audio mixer: Catastrophic failure on Mixing Console PCBs, anyone ever seen this?

Hey everyone,

I am working on repairing some PCBs off of a TL Audio VTC Mixing Console. There seem to be multiple points of failure, but I have never seen damage this catastrophic and I am wondering anyone has any ideas about what caused this level of damage.

The first damaged item was an LM339N OP-AMP, which ended up actually destroying the pad connected to pin 12, which is GND. Of all the pins, why would GND be burnt up? This device is part of the VU-Meter circuit was is essentially a peak detector circuit for the volume level.

The next failure point was on another PCB in the same console, located nowhere near the previous one. This seems to have melted on both sides somehow. There was also a ribbon cable underneath the board which melted.

I actually managed to find the schematic for the second board, and it seems to be part of a switching circuit for the Pre-Fade-Listen audio signals. It seems like this IC was responsible for the left channel, because the IC2 is actually responsible for the right channel and it is completely fine.

Strangely enough, the analog switch ICs are fine, it is just the OP-AMPs that are destroyed...

If anyone has seen anything like this before it would be really helpful!
