Yashica TL-Super: Film advance and shutter will not work on my Yashica camera

My Yashica camera's film advance lever will not pull back very far. The shutter button is loose too, but when I press it the shutter does not release. The shutter looks intact, but may not work. Any ideas on what the problem is? Is it fixable, or do I need to find a new body?

Edit: I managed to get the top part off far enough to take a look. Everything seems to be fine, so I'll open up the front next.

Yashica Camera: Yashica FX-3 super 2000 auto-fires when advancing the film

Hi,

My Yashica film camera has just started to automatically release the shutter as I am half way through advancing the film. If I advance the film very very slowly, I can sometimes avoid this happening but not always. I find it also helps if I set the shutter speed really low before advancing the film.

I wonder if there is anything which needs loosening? It is strange because I have had it for years and not had a problem before. The film is then moving when the shutter is opened so the photos are not full frame and have motion blur.

Any advice would be greatly welcomed, thanks!

Yashica Camera: How to fix an s-video port?

Copy and paste from another forum: So I finally got a cheap capture card and am now trying to back up my old home videos on 8mm tapes.

Just back in the september I was watching the first one I tried capturing and it played perfectly on my TV. When I tried to capture it on my computer on the weekend, I got 30 minutes of clear footage before the video started going black and white, lines started going all over the screen or cutting out, etc. Same thing with the next tape I just tried to capture, it worked fine in the summer but the video is doing the same thing right now.

I don't think it's the tapes themselves, the sound is coming through perfectly and when I look in the "eyepiece", it's still quite clear looking. I think it's the s-video slot on the camcorder, it seems to plug in but doesn't seem tightly in there, I can wiggle out the s-video cable really quickly. I notice that the port is slightly pushed in and am scared to try to shove the cable in there and make it worse.

I just hooked it up to my TV and now it’s having the same problem. Also it's a Kyocera Yashica Kx-H3 Hi8, almost no info out there on it but it looks similar to Sony Handycams.

Yashica T4 Super: Yashica T4 Winding Unit "3AZ60111"

Hi there,

I'm looking for some advice or informations about the Yashica T4 Winding Unit I want to replace at my T4. I think the T5 has the same Unit and I was wondering, if there are other cameras from Yashica with the exact same Winding Unit from the T4. The Yashica Minitec has a similar body, so I was wondering if there build in the same Winding Unit. I got an service manual from the T4 but could't find one for the Minitec to check.

Are there any other people out there who changed the Winding Unit from the T4. Would be nice to here from you. I want ti replace ist because the film is rewinding between 24 and 26 images even there is a 36 film inside. Also the motor sounds very hard working, so I guess the winding unit is not working proper. Any hints for finding this Winding Unit in an other camera then the T4 or T5?

Thanks a lot!

Recently obtained an otherwise seeming excellent to mint Yashica FX-3 Super 2000. All shutter speeds seem accurate (to my ear anyway) Body in fine condition. BUT the advance lever --while it does cock the shutter -- stays in the open position--I have to manually click it back in place to release the shutter. Not a camera workman/repairman. Is there a fairly uncomplicated "fix?" Again--the camera does advance film and the shutter fires, but I have to flip the advance lever back into position manually.
