My Xiomi Redmi A2 mobile which i had purchased new three months ago in India, worked all fine, when last week i was on a call and kept the mobile in my pocket and dint check the phone for an hour. When i last checked it, the mobile was turning off and it had factory to reset option displaying, as i had not done anything , I turned off my mobile and tried to turn it on without clicking on OK to factory reset (Just wanted to save my data), after which the phone is just stuck in the android one screen. Doesnt turns on from there.

Its not going to recovery mode too. If volume down and power button is pressed it agains comes back from fastboot mode to the android one screen and stucks there. Is there a way i could repair it. I bought it in India and Im at canada. So theres is no way i could ask for replacement. I dont find any redmi repair showroom in torronto. Doe someone knows how to resolve….

Xiaomi Mi A2: Not accepting charge, looking for alternatives to charge the battery.

My Xiaomi A2 is not accepting a charge. I got a battery diagnostics app and it never goes to -mA.

There have been discussions about this being a software issues, but I think in my case it could be a hardware issue as I used a macbook charger to charge my phone a few times. I remember the phone getting really hot whenever I did this.

I tried replacing the charge board with no luck.

As a desparate attempt to get some useful life out of this phone, I wanted to see if I could find an external battery charge so I could charge the battery by taking it out of the phone. This is what the connector looks like.

Is it possible to get some sort of device to charge these batteries?

Xiaomi Mi A2: New battery discharging faster than 6 year old one

I followed the iFixit guide to replace the 6 year old battery in a Mi A2 phone with a new battery - which seemed to go OK once old battery was removed.
However, even after battery calibration, the new battery is discharging about twice as fast as the old one.
The phone previously lasted all day without a charge - now it doesn't get to lunchtime before shutting down. (I would at this point be putting the old battery back in but I damaged it on removal :(

Can anyone suggest how I work out what is wrong?
Is there any reason to think I'd have a different result if I tried (yet) another battery?

Xiaomi Mi A2: Phone acting strange after changing the battery

My Mi A2 was working fine, except for not charging when off, then one day it ran out of battery and since it couldn’t charge when off I had to change the battery, the old one was bloated so I had to change it anyways.

When the new battery came the phone wouldn’t turn on the screen would turn a bit lighter as if turning on but then it would go black again, then somehow it turned on and it was working fine, but the battery was charging way slower (6 hours for full charge, my phone takes like 3hrs usually). I removed the new battery then put it in again to see if it somehow helped but it didn’t and the phone did the same thing again with the screen going black and I had to click the on button many times so it would respond but now the screen is black again and won’t turn on, also and this is extra i just did 2 factory resets to see if it helped with the battery problem it didn’t and before my screen went black all my apps were crashing to the point that on the second reset i couldn't even do the initial phone configuration of the phone. Do I now have a pretty brick or is the problem the new battery none if this has ever happened before changing the battery.

Xiaomi Mi A2: Touchscreen doesn't work, after waterdamage

Hello,

my Phone’s touchscreen stopped working after I dropped it into a lake. I allready have put it into rice with an open backpanel. Sadly I couldn’t turn it off completely after the accident, it kept restarting repeatedly… After it stopped that it was in the usual state in which I would need to insert my Pin, additionally the Powerbutton doesn’t work as good as before.

Now is my question if I need to replace the screen or if there’s some other step I should try beforehand.

Xiaomi Mi A2: Random Locking/Unlocking - Hardware or Software related?

I bought my phone on eBay for cheap since it’s easily repairable and is equipped with “Android One” , the seller had already replaced the display and Volume up/down and power button flex cable inside the phone.

About a week ago the phone started locking and unlocking seemingly at random, doing it almost immediately after I unlocked/locked it by pressing the button myself.

First I shifted towards a hardware issue, corroded contact pads, maybe some water inside the device. Since a factory reset trough the recovery didn’t solve the issue it was clear it has to be the hardware buttons.

The big confusion for me now is:

When I boot it into it’s recovery and control the menu with the volume buttons the power button should press itself like it would with the lock/unlock issue, but it doesn’t!

Is there any known android software issue, maybe an app which is trying to inject a routine in the background that’s doing this?

I don’t want to open my phone, replace everything, close it up and see it starting to happen again because it’s software related.

My Mi A2 lite’s display cracked so I was replacing the display. However, when I tried to check if the display was working, the phone no longer powers on. I must admit that when I tried to pry the battery out that I might have damaged it. I felt like I bent some of the edges of the battery but visually it looks fine.

When I plug the phone onto my PC, I get a power surge on usb port warning.

I’ve also tried reconnecting everything with the original, damaged screen and the phone still doesn’t work, so I’m guessing that the display is not the issue.

I’m wondering if I damaged the battery which is causing this issue or if it might be a problem with the motherboard.
