Xiaomi Mi 9: Turns greenish tint/yellow on low brightness water damage

Hi,so apparently my Mi 9 has a amoled screen…5 days before this happens,my phone got water damage and can't even turn on…after 3 days my phone starts working but no image/light appears to the screen even the screen is responsive to the touch

But now…it's became normal but there's a problem if I put on the low brightness…the BLACK and GREY color looks greenish/yellowish….If I turn off my phone…lcd looks like it didn't shut off the light…my amoled panel still looks like it is power on

Can this problem can be solved with cleaning the corrosion by ISO Alcohol?

Xiaomi Mi 9: Is it true that it is a motherboard issue?

I have had a Mi 9 since August, 2019. In feburary, suddenly my phone started to randomly shut down, and I could not restart it sometimes. Once I could not turn on, just for half day, and then totally died.

I visited a phone service, who said it’s a motherboard issue (maybe charging IC), and it’s dead. I went home, put it on charger and IT WORKED. Worked till 2020 July (almost half year after it was said it’s useless).

Now it showed the android logo, then turned off. Sometimes it booted correctly, then turned off. It was a bootloop, but if I let it to loop a lot of time after half an hour it started. After few hours of totally perfect use, it died again. Then I flashed and used MiFlash. It could not be turned on. I could only reach fastboot (still loop). When battery drained, I visited services, all of them said it’s a motherboard issue.

Is it possible to die like this? I think it’s more likely battery doesn’t fit well or something.

Xiaomi Mi 9: Fingerprint not working after screen replacement

Hey guys

have replaced the screen (whole unit with frame) on this Xiaomi Mi 9

afterwards the fingerprint Sensor did not work properly. It hardly Scans the initial fingerprint but won’t unlock the phone with it or allow any other fingerprint functions.

I have already removed it and replaced it again. as it is embedded into the Display Unit I Wonder if this is a problem concerning the display unit or the fingerprint scanner itself.

if it is the fingerprint scanner, would it even be possible to replace it or is it like on iPhones „married“ to the motherboard?

Xiaomi Mi 9: Why does my phone keep bricking?

Please note: I have not changed anything software-wise, all stock MiUI that came with the phone.

The phone keeps just turning off as if someone’s unplugging the battery! I'll be doing something on the phone, I could be watching a video, playing a game, even just sat on the home screen with no apps open. Without warning the screen goes black and when watching the video sometimes I hear a tiny pop, probably just the sound cutting out. After this sometimes I'll be able to turn it on straight away, sometimes it won't turn on for hours, and during this time it will not charge, it'll just sit there bricked. Once it comes back on sometimes the battery level has dropped by 30-40% even if it's only been a few minutes.

Can anybody send some advice my way? Is there a fix? Do I need to replace the battery?

Thanks in advance!

Xiaomi Mi 9: Screw set for Mi9 Transparent Edition

My battery unfortunately has expanded enough that it popped the back cover off. I saw the wonderful tutorial here and ordered all the parts listed. Unfortunately when I went to disassemble, the transparent edition I have isn’t phillips #00 screws like in the tutorial.

I need to know what I should order to get these screws out and optimally, what screws I should order to replace them with as most of the heads don’t look nearly as good as that photo(whomever put the phone together apparently had a heavy hand).
