Xiaomi Laptop: Keyboard problem on Xiaomi Mi Game laptop

Hello, iFixers 👋

My friend has a Xiaomi Mi Game laptop (he says gen 2) that behaves strangely - mid section of the keyboard only works with caps lock engaged and is completely dysfunctional otherwise. We have disassembled the laptop and found that one of the traces of the left keyboard flex cable if slightly bent. This may be due to the fact that it is being pressed by a hard drive enclosure. The question is how do we fix this problem? Is it really due to the bent flex cable trace? Or maybe there is something else we should check? Should we replace the keyboard and how difficult is that? Any ideas are appreciated as always 🙏

Xiaomi Air 12: Where is charge controller?

Hello,

One day my laptop stopped powering on.

Xiaomi official repair told me that problem is burned charge controller, it’s typical problem for that family, they don’t know which chip to replace and can only replace whole motherboard but it will cost almost same as new laptop.

Any chance to fix just charge controller ?

Attaching photo of motherboard, could anyone told me where is power controller chip ?

Motherboard rev R10-6050A2789401-MB-A01.

I found only MXIC 25L512e (seems like BIOS) and SIC831 (what is it?) chips on it.

Is needed chip under metalic cover ?

When ever I ON my PC, it requires me to put a password which then takes me straight to the boots menu and I will need to click ESC before Windows starts booting. How can I remove this password so that my PC comes on without taking me to boots menu first?

Xiaomi Laptop: MI Horizon Laptop Won't Start After Shutdown

I have an MI Horizon 14 model laptop, and I'm experiencing a problem where it won't start after being shut down. Here's what's happening:

If I open the back cover, disconnect the battery cable and CMOS cable from the motherboard, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect them, the system will start up normally. Once it's running, everything works fine—I can restart it or put it in sleep mode without any issues. However, if I shut it down completely, I can't start it again unless I repeat the process of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and CMOS cables.

Can anyone help me understand what's causing this issue and how I can fix it permanently? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Xiaomi Air 12: Need help with resetting the BIOS/UEFI

After “resetting” the BIOS password by simply not inputting anything, I’ve accidentally locked myself out of the BIOS due to the BIOS saying “password incorrect” whenever I input anything. Do note I’m using XiaoMi’s Notebook Pro instead of the Air, however the Pro is not listed in the “devices” list provided by iFixit.

Help is very appreciated, as I have tried removing the battery and letting it sit for a while, which is the only solution that I have found so far from other people, which does not work for me.
