My Xbox Series X bluetooth randomly disconnects my controller and headset or sometimes just has a very weak connection which can be felt when playing online multiplayer games.

I have tried different headsets & controllers and have confirmed via troubleshooting that the problem lies within the xbox console.

Does anyone know what internal piece of hardware needs to be replaced to fix this problem?

Xbox Series X: Xbox series X Randomly shutting down

Hello everyone,

My Xbox series X is randomly shutting down when playing games… I haven’t observed it having any issues downloading or streaming, only when playing both disk and digital games.

I followed all the basic recommendations for ventilation. That did nothing so I opened it… the thermal paste was terrible but after replacing it, and cleaning the console, there was no difference.

I’m about to start swapping parts, specifically the power supply to see if that resolved it. I’m also considering that it could be a fault on the SSD because occasionally, on restart, none of the games or anything will load. I also considered it may be something wrong with the main power rails to the CPU but that’s just a guess because I recall watching one get fixed once and being told a console could function without a phase of power but may fail under load.

Any thoughts? I would appreciate input as I can not find any post, article, or YouTube video suggesting a real cause and solution.

Xbox Series X: Series X shuts off during games. Occasionally when turned on.

My series x has had an issue with shutting off during games. Mainly with Series X/S games. Occasionally when I turn the system on it'll shut off at the Xbox screen (3-4 seconds).

I thought perhaps the power supply was failing. In games it would last maybe 30 mins to an hour before shutting off. Sometimes you might be able to an hour or more.

I bought a replacement power supply from ifixit this past Wednesday and arrived this morning. Replacement successful. Upon testing, it went 2 straight hours in a game that usually shut off within 30 mins to an hour. It shutoff. So I fired the same game back up and went a little more then 2 hours.

I switched to a different game that also gave me issues before. It went around 5-7 mins then shut off. Tried again, went 30 mins then shut off. Tried again. This time went nearly 2 hours before I shut everything down and called it a night.

Sorry for the long post but wanted to give as much detail as I could. I've tried all the traditional troubleshooting before buying the replacement. So either the power supply I just bought has an issue? But since it's near identical to before I'm could be something else going on.

Was hoping someone might have other possible hardware related troubleshooting. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Xbox Series X: Does the 2tb version of XBOX series x have a better cooling system?

Does the 2tb version Xbox have more efficient cooling than the 1tb version? I am aware that the 1tb uses a vapor chamber cooling. I ask because I am curious which version would keep the xbox more cool under the same situation, or would the cooling be pretty much identical to each other? I heard the vapor chamber cooling system is superior than the copper heat pipes used in the 2tb model but could be wrong. Please explain. Thank you.

Xbox Series X: Xbox Freezing & Audio Stuttering-Tried Everything Except Thermal putty

awhile back, I got a free pre-owned Xbox Series X model (1882) physical disc version. Lately, it’s been freezing and the audio keeps stuttering during gameplay. It happens with any game — for example, I tried playing Gears of War 4, and it froze after about 5–8 minutes.

At first, I thought the issue was with the fan. I cleaned the Xbox with compressed air and even replaced the fan with a genuine one. Later, I opened it up again and applied new thermal paste. I’ve worked with thermal paste before and have done it successfully on my gaming laptop, so I don’t think that’s the problem.

However, the issue is still happening. Now I’m considering replacing the old thermal putty since that’s one thing I haven’t touched yet. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue or used thermal putty to fix it? I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing this.

Xbox Series X: No power at all

I have an Xbox series x that just turned off while watching Netflix. It has no power at all when the button is pressed.

I have tried a different power cable and different sockets still the same. I can hear a crack of electricity when the power cable is plugged in so the PSU seems ok on that side.

I watched a YouTube video about PSU issues and have stripped it down and tested the PSU which has output voltage of just under 12v on both cables so this seems good.

I did a continuity test on the power connection on the main board and the smaller board and didn't get anything back so I assume nothing has shorted out.

Does anyone have any ideas? As I am at about the limit of my skill set for fault finding the issue.

Xbox Series X: Series X Turns On And Off Right Away. PSU Has Already Been Replaced

Recently downloaded BF6. While playing my Xbox turned off. I rebooted and played for about 20 mins and it turned off again. This time it would not turn back on.

After various troubleshooting ideas I replaced the internal power supply. This worked. I played BF6 for about 1 hour and it happened again. Now, when I turn the xbox on it makes the sound and turns off right away.

Clearly it was not the power supply. Whatever is going on allowed me to play for a while before crashing. Does anyone have any guides I can follow to test what the root cause is here? I'm decent with a soldering iron and have a multimeter. I just don't know where to start looking for what could be the root cause.

Every time i launched a game it used to crash immediately onto a snow screen. The issue originally started with COD MW3, but now it has spread to the entire console.
