I am trying to replace the jack on my headset. When I strip the cable down there are a black, blue, red, and white with a copper shield around it. I have the plug but I need to know which wires are for left speaker, right speaker, microphone, and ground. What do I connect the copper shielding to?

Hey all.

Dog chewed up my audio cable for my headset all the way to where the cable meets the headset.

It is my assumption that if I purchase a TRRS 3.5mm cable from Amazon and splice it I can fix the issue.

The problem is I can't figure out how to disassemble the headset itself. I don't want to tug on it too much and break the plastic.

Does anybody have any experience disassembling one of these headsets and can lend a helping virtual hand?

my headset wire had bees torn apart almost directly in the middle and I don’t know how to fix this or if I need to get a new headset altogether.

I have two headsets, one with broken jack and other with working jack, so I want put the working jack on my good headset. However the two headsets have different wiring colors and I don't know which wires to connect. The jack is coming from a microsoft headset where the wire colors can be confirmed here: ++What wire colors are in the TRRS 3.5mm jack?, and the headset I want to connect it to is a Nubwo N2 which I can't find anything about. The Xbox jack has white, black, red, and blue wires (top), while the Nubwo headset has white/copper/green, blue, red, and red/yellow (bottom).

With my stereo headset you have to angle the wire coming from the adapter to the headset perfectly for it to make sound. I have another headset (Which is Cracked so I can't use the left speaker and mic) that works when it's being plugged into the same adapter and controller. What do I do?
