Hello,

I'm looking to get any information on the aforementioned parts of the Xbox 1 kinect modules. I searched the part number on the IR camera, as well as any other number I could find on a board or cable, but came up with nothing.

I would like to know the connection type or pin-out of any of the modules, as I wanna try and mess around with it to see what cool stuff I can do. If you have any info on these parts, it would be greatly appreciated.

Xbox One Kinect: How to best re-atach the cable?

I did remove the cable on my Kinect by pulling it out using some force.

Now I want to plug it in again. Has anyone any tips on how to do that properly?

Pictures on the rotation of the cable, the process and a few tricks would be very much apreciated.

I could also use a picture of how the port is supposed to look when it is not damaged to compare it to.

This might be helpful to people in the exact situation as I am- be it because of curiousity or because the cable needs to be swapped out.

Update: Just to clarify: Nothing is definitely broken- just need help figuring out how to plug the cable in again without killing the port.

Xbox One Kinect: Why does my Kinect keep going through power down/up cycles then stop

My Kinect 2 for Xbox One keeps powering down and back up again then eventually doesn't come back on and shows the 'not plugged in' icon in the top right corner.

I could hazard a guess that it is over heating and shuts down as a safety precaution? If this were true maybe the fan isn't working. Should the fan be on all the time or only when it is hot enough?

How can I get an actual fault code out of it? And assuming I can get a fault code, where can I look up what it means?

Xbox One Kinect: Fan not spinning / constant stopping and starting (modified for PC)

Hi there! Just dug my old kinect for Xbox one out of the junk box and it’s not working when plugged into my pc. I had previously modified it to work on pc by soldering in an extra power adapter, and it worked completely fine back then, however now when i plug it in it works for a couple of seconds, overheats and then shuts off. Rinse repeat. The fan wasn’t spinning so i thought it might be a faulty fan after reading a reddit post, so i ordered a new one and nada, nothing, still dead. Anything i can do about it or is it toast?

Thank you!

Xbox One Kinect: Help! Poor Uni student can't find a replacement wire!

Hi, I'm a student at Falmouth University studying Digital Games Animation. I'm fascinated with the Kinect and i can't wait to start using it for some small animation projects..... However, after buying one on eBay knowing it was broken for £20!! I thought it would be a nice easy fix soldering the dog chewed wire.. This has not been the case and has actually been a pain! I was wondering if this wire can be replaced as I can't seem to find one anywhere with the same special Kinect connector.. The wire is currently in two and after three attempts of connecting it together, I'm Starting to think this was a waste of time but I really hope not as this would really help me to learn motion capture and make me want to start rigging characters much more accurately so I can get some nice results. Thank you for any replies, I will apreticate it!

Xbox One Kinect: J24, J26 missing on Kinect

Hello everyone I want to ask a question about my Kinect.

I bought a Kinect One from Ebay used, to use for PC VR with a PSVR headset, but when it came in I couldn’t get it to work with my PC.

I thought it was a problem with the adapter I was using, so I did a hacky mod to just hardwire in power and use a USB cable to connect it, but this still didn’t work.

Now I’ve noticed, by comparing my Kinect to pictures on iFixit, that J26 and J24 are missing and wanted to ask if this is normal or should they be replaced.

Also if I should replace them is there a way to test if the Kinect is working before ordering new ones?

Xbox One Kinect: Kinect v2 for Xbox will not power up (no J11)

Hi.

I've tried doing a lot of research but got nowhere.

I own a Microsoft Kinect for Xbox (slightly different from the Xbox for Windows version).

It's not the first release, since I could confirm it does not have the J11 fuse.

Picture here: https://imgur.com/GHw2SGw

I does not work while connected to an Xbox One or an Xbox One S (through the adapter).

I believe that the adapter is working fine (it's brand new) and power seems to enter the kinect (based on some basic measures, I'm not really an expert).

Not sure what to do. Perhaps someone can point me in the direction of replacing some obvious components, or maybe replace the main board, if they are being sold somewhere.

Any help is appreciated.
