Xbox 360 S: 360s powers on then off red light on psu

So here is the story: I repair rrod xbox consoles so my friend thought he would buy a cheap 360s on ebay (warranty seal broken) that was broken and have me fix it. The problem is that when i try to power on the xbox it chimes, turns off, and the light on the brick is red. The power brick powers up the halo reach 360s that i own so the problem is not the psu. I have checked all of the usb ports to make sure nothing is shorting out. I have also taken the mobo out of the chassis and all the solder connections look fine. I was looking around the web and some people were reporting that this could be due to a bad mosfet. I was wondering if this was true and if it is how i would go about testing the mosfets figure out which one is bad. Also if any one has and other ideas feel free to share them.

Thanks and sorry for the long description,

Cody

Xbox 360 S: Xbox 360 S HDMI video out doesn't work, AV out does. How can I fix it?

So I have a friend's Xbox 360 Slim console here, I can't get video out on the HDMI port. The AV port works, I tried it with a composite cable.

My friend says they had some kind of power outage and the console's power supply blew. Tried with a different power brick, the console works but no video out over HDMI.

The HDMI port seems fine from the outside, no bent pins or signs of physical damage to it. I'll attach a pic taken with my microscope.
My question is where should I start in trying to fix this, if it's even fixable. I can do microsoldering if needed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Xbox 360 S: Xbox 360 Slim - Without Video.

Hello, im pretty new here, so i apologize for any poblems.
Basically, i got a "new" X360 Slim. (Not the super slim).

i turn it on, and, well, no video.
Symptoms:
-No Video at all, i've tested both AV and HDMI.

-Powers on (Via Eject, Power button, can be powered by controller), and no RROD. Just the green led on.) It also does not make the boot up led animation.

-it reacts to eject, and the sync animation is somewhat bugged. controllers cant connect.

The PSU seems to be working fine. Orange on idle, green on powered on.

it is heating a little. so definitely the APU seems to be executing some code. (at least in theory).

The fan is correctly respoding to the fan curve set by the xbox.

i've confirmed it wont boot after some wait.

this is all that i have of info for now.

i've checked him on the sides to see if there is any RGH led on. i've seen nothing. im planning to crack it open (carefully) and give it a look.

My plans of fixing:
If it is RGH, i will give re-solder any cracked joints.

if is not RGH, i will need to diagnose what could be. i have no idea of how im doing that..

i will also put a little chispet heatsink on one of the components that seems to be responsible for this poblem. im not sure if it will help. but well, in stone age terms:
HEATSINK KEEP THINGS COOL, THINGS COOL NO POBLEM. roughly.

i want some help on diagnosing this poblem.

if its a issue that needs re-solding a chip, we will take to a technician to fix it. as we dont have the proper equipment. but i will happy to have some info on that. and if all is caused of those dirty temperature changes.

Xbox 360 S: Wont turn on, but still makes the beep

Xbox 360 slim, trinity motherboard, Coolrunner rev c, no idea what type of rgh it is (1.2 or 2). I do have cpu keys and nand backups, no nand read/writer though.

It's been working for a while and I was surprised to figure out it was rghed after I tried running bad update. Anyways, I wanted so surprise him by cleaning the shell out and everything to make it look brand new. I was in the middle of taking off the 2 side panels. (The really hard ones on each side) I got a little frustrated that the clamps weren't being undone and I went a little crazy opening it. I thought to test it just in case and then my heart sunk. It wouldn't boot.

I've tried so many freaking different things. I tore it all the way down and tested without the rf module, used a different psu, even desoldered the glitch chip to see it that was it. Still nothing. It's doing something really weird when I power it. It makes the chime and the fan moves a little bit, then it powers straight off. I've torn it down to bare bones and still the same thing. Any ideas? I just feel super bad :(

I have have about 15 different photos on the motherboard and 2 videos. 1 video is really bad because it was like 12 in the morning.

Xbox 360 S: My Xbox S starts to turn on and then shuts back off

When I plug my Xbox into the wall outlet the power brick turns orange and then as soon as I touch the power button or the eject button, green lights are on both the console and the power brick and then it shuts right off and the light on the power brick turns back to orange. I've tried brand new power bricks and the same problem happens. I brought the system in 2010 and after a couple of months the system would not turn on and the power brick had a red light, nothing on the console. After trouble shooting over the phone with Microsoft I returned the power brick and they sent me a new one and had the same problem. After giving up from frustration for a year I tried the system again recently and to my surprise it worked. After two back to back weekends (the only times my kids play it) all of a sudden this new problem of turning on and off started. I've tried every online trouble shoot and nothing is working. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the USB ports, as most people have suggested to be a potential cause and as mentioned earlier even a new power brick/cord doesn't do the trick. Please help.

Xbox 360 S: XBox 360 S - Unrecognized disc error/stuck on XBox screen

Hey folks, wondering if there's anyone out there who has any suggestions to help me get my XB360S disc drive working again. I bought this console off eBay, and the only issue I had was, it was not reading discs. Had the security sticker on it, and the plastic rivets were still in place on the end bezels. Overall, the console was fairly clean, and I cleaned everything, put new thermal paste on the GPU. The disc drive is a Hitachi-LG model. I tried replacing the laser itself (removed the anti-static solder ball), and am still getting the same problem where it can't read discs. I tried several different games and I either get "unrecognized disc", or it gets stuck on the XBox 360 logo when trying to load the game.
