Xbox 360 E: Red ring fix for xbox 360 E?

When I turn on my Xbox the fan immediately goes crazy and then after 5-6 seconds the button turns red while the Xbox is not being displayed on the screen. Is there a fix for this for the Xbox 360 E?

Hey all, I have an Xbox 360 E that I've always taken good care of. One day, after 5-6 hours of playing, the fan got very loud and blasted loud for about a half hour until it shut down due to lack of ventalation. I turned it back on and had no problems for another 5-6 hours until the fan got loud and it overheated again. The console had NEVER over heated or powered off before this. This continued to get worse every day, with the time it's starts over heating becoming earlier and earlier. I should also mention it seemed the fan was permanently louder. A month later it got so bad I couldn't even play for 5 minutes without overheating, I had to resort to putting something cold from the freezer next to the Xbox vents, about 3 inches away or I couldn't play. The fan wouldn't be as loud with the cold cans next to it. I was able to play 7-8 hours as long as I had something cold by the Xbox, then that started becoming less effective. As the days went on I had less and less time until the console overheated. It is now to the point that when I hit the power button on the Xbox, it goes green for 1-2 seconds, then immediately flashes red, the fan blasts and powers down in about 5 seconds, can't even see the 360 startup icon it powers off so quickly. Flashing red is the lack of ventalation/overheating indicator for the Xbox E, but it is not overheating. It can sit off for a month, I power it up and it shuts down due to lack of ventalation immediately in 2 seconds. There is nothing blocking the vents, it is in an open area elevated off the carpet. The power brick is Orange when off, and turns green when I start It and stays green until it powers off. It is not red ring of death obviously, the Xbox 360 E isn't even supposed to get red ring, the power button flashes red, it is not a solid red. I opened it up and the Xbox is very clean, minimal dust. The thermal paste was dry but could that really cause it to shut down immediately..? Wouldn't I at least be able to get to the dashboard? It was almost powdery dry. I should also note this went on for about 2 months until it was unplayable, the Xbox never even got hot it always felt normal temp when it would power down, sometimes on the colder side. I've seen many posts relating to this instance without definitive answers so I'm hoping to fix my problem so others with the same problem and no answers can rest assured.. :) Any help/input is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Xbox 360 E: Why are the controllers not syncing?

My xbox 360 turns on to the home screen if i push the power button, but the green light isn't going on and the controllers aren't syncing to the system. They turn on but don't sync to the system.

Xbox 360 E: It is possible to just replace fan

My son has a x box 360E the cooling fan is making noise, and will prevent the console from being used. Is it possible to just replacement the fan? Do we HAVE to buy special tools to make the change, or are we able to use small screw drivers and tools non specific to x box?

I bought an Xbox 360 E use from someone on Facebook marketplace I did not know that they had a roach infestation so when I got it home and started pulling things out I noticed there were roaches eggs and a terrible smell how can I get the infestation out of the game system without ruining it I can only put raid on so many things

Xbox 360 E: Fan not Running! Ventilation insufficiant

Hey everyone! Ive got a great big ol problem.

I get the "Ventilation is insufficiant" error coming up on an XBOX 360 E.

I have opened the device up, and ran it without the case, where i get the same issue. at this time, the fan is never running. i have tried many things to get the fan to run, which are listed below.

1) I Applied 5.5V directly across the fans /+ aGND/ pins. The fan ran, which told me, that the pins on the board are not supplying sufficiant Voltage to the device.

2) With the knoledge gained from above, I Decided to try a 12V Mod, and i spliced the /+ to GND/ of the fan to the /12V to GND/ of the Disc Tray, which still provided no power to the fan.

I am unable to figure out why the device will not Fan On. does anyone else have some information i can use to fix this issue? the device knows it is overheating, but wont power the fan.

Xbox 360 E: Xbox 360-e red light on HDMI insertion how would I troubleshoot it?

Hey all,

so yeah I grabbed this faulty Xbox 360-e and am looking to fix up the HDMI as when the HDMI is plugged in the light flashes red but otherwise is green troubleshooting says to check with av but the e model only has a HDMI output.

I have some limited soldering experience and have been snooping around here and on YouTube on info about fixing and rghing it (Snapped some photos when I was repasting the box if anyone wants to see the guts).

so I was wondering what I would need to do in terms of troubleshooting this baby and getting it rghed whilst I'm in there

I’m not sure what parts id need I think its a corona v1 but I’m not 100% any help would be appreciated :D Thanks a lot oh yeah how is this in terms of business viability I would love to do this as a send-in repairs business or something similar ive go limited mobility but stuff like this even when I was a kid id get into trouble for taking stuff apart to look inside

Xbox 360 E: Remove RF module or just RF chip?

Question on RF module in XBox 360 E: to disable RF emission / reception, is it sufficient to remove the RF chip on the module, or should the WHOLE RF module be removed? Is there anything else RF-related on the module apart from the actual chip?

Xbox 360 E: My Xbox 360 is overheating for no reason!

Hi,

this is the first time i have ever asked a question on ifixit , okay here it goes.

So my problem is that when i try to boot up my Xbox 360 e console (which is jtag)

it starts over heating for no reason , i mean i just started up the Xbox 360 and it starts overheating. my power button starts flashing red and the fan starts spinning

like crazy when i start it up. It booted up 2 to 3 times but after that it didn't even boot up. it just turns on and then it closes. Before the problem my jtag used to blink after every 6 seconds and now my jtag just blinks once and it starts over-heating , the flashing light on the jtag means it is trying to boot up.

Xbox 360 E: What steps should I take to check why my fan isn't working?

I have been dealing with the insufficient ventilation error, and noticed that the fan was not spinning at all. I did some testing and was able to confirm that the fan works when using an independent power source (9V) battery, but I would like a permanent solution to fix the power to fan issue. When I removed the motherboard I did find that there was some water damage (got this from facebook) and it was over the whole board. I have no idea what I should be checking to narrow down what would cause the issue, is there a diagram that can show me what on the board is related to powering the fan?

Since I got my Xbox it hadn’t turned on. Then I decided to take it apart. I disconnected the dvd drive cable from the motherboard, ad then it turned on. I connected it again and it will not turn on again. I hope that someone can help me with this problem.

Xbox 360 E: Unrecognised Disc on all discs for 360

Hi all, recently purchased a Xbox 360 e for learning repairs and having fun.

I’m getting the error Unrecognised disc when inserting a disc for the 360, this happens on all discs. I haven’t tried any repairs, though I have opened the console up and everything looks ok.

Just seeing if I could get some guidance on what to do and where to go etc. I live in Australia so some parts might not be available locally

Guys! I dont have a hard drive at all.... it is empty! we did not purchase a hard drive... we only bought a basic console E. but somehow there is a memory chip inside... where and is it possible to get it out somehow and transfer the data to my new xbox?

Xbox 360 E: How do you clean out disc tray?

My 2 and 3 year olds opened my disc tray and put crackers into it. I was wondering how to fix it. It obviously wont open and close properly and I, again obviously, wont place a disc into it. I was wondering how to fix this issue.

Xbox 360 E: does removing the hard drive break the warranty seal?

My xbox 360 e 4gb edition gave me the red dot of death after having it and normal use for about 10 months and im trying to fix that and everyone keeps telling me to remove the hard drive and vacuum the outside and I want to do all of that. But I also want to use it to trade in for an xbox one but I cant break the warranty seal so im just wondering if opening that will break the warranry seal or not?
